Lisa,
Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback! We aim to please and were delighted to host you and your family!
Let me start by staying we had a great stay. The home was very clean, safe and modern inside. It has it's own dock and a nice pontoon boat that could be rented separately. The homeowners were great to deal with. I would consider returning which I think is the best compliment. The only surprise for us is that the home is a trailer, albeit a very large and clean trailer. In fact, we drove past it a few times and had to ask some local neighbors for directions. Once you get over the initial surprise that it is a trailer and not a 'Lakehouse Cabin' as described in the listing, it's actually a good place for a vacation. Again, I would consider a return

Thank you so much for your review and I am so happy you enjoyed your stay and the boat rental option so much.
To address the trailer vs. cabin issue, there is no option for me to list as a trailer or mobile home with VRBO and that is why it shows up as a cabin. The images found in the listing clearly show that this is mobile home.
Thanks so much and we hope you come back soon!
It’s exactly as the pictures show. Nice little house, clean and neat. They have a dock with a pontoon boat that you can rent. Everything in one stop. Would recommend.
The mobile home on Lake Gaston is not much to look at from the outside but the interior has been updates and is very comfortable. We rented the pontoon for a day and enjoyed cruising the lake.. We took the canoe out a few times to explore the nearby coves. We made stores at the fire put (bring your own wood). The kitchen had enough supplies to make a simple meal. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't jump off the pier into the lake due to the size of the cove. The water in the cove is not suited for swimming but I did lay on a float near the dock.
Stayed here previously. Refurbished was improvement.
Wish I could put my boat under cover. Overall was very good.

Great location. Had fun on the lake.
Several maintenance/cleaning chances for improvement. Upon arrival, the coffee maker had not been cleaned and had grounds left in the maker for a considerable amount of time. The coffee maker was left stained and could not be cleaned. A replacement maker is strongly recommended. Dishes, although clean were left in the dishwasher. The outside (gas) grill needed a through cleaning and should be replaced as the defussers are rotted out. People should be warned that the hot and cold water are reversed in at least 2 locations, to include the kitchen sink. It is a great location and offers a outstanding views and lake access, but cleaning and maintenance need to be more closely supervised. The pontoon boat rental was great.

Paul thank you for your review. I am sorry that the coffee maker was not cleaned and the dishes were in the dishwasher. We just hired a new company to clean for us and it obviously needs attention. We did just renovate and did indeed have an issue with the lines being reversed. All this has been resolved. We hope to see you again soon!
The lake is beautiful and if you have the opportunity, rent the boat! The trailer needs updating though. Be sure to sit on the deck and sundeck to enjoy the peace and tranquillity. I would recommend this to friends and family for a lovely getaway.
Had a fun weekend with friends rented the pontoon boat offered. Used the fire pit and hung out on the dock and patio. House had everything we needed for a good stay.
This is very nice property for 4-6 people. Secluded at the end of a small cove. Not far to get out to the main lake. The hosts were awesome and kept in great communication with us. Due to it being at the end of a cove, swimming from the dock was not really an option for us due to shallow water, shade and vegetation. That said, fishing from the dock was great! We also rented their pontoon boat which was in great shape and comparable with marina rental pricing, without needing to go to a marina!
Home was extremely accessible, perfect home for a quiet weekend getaway with a few friends to relax and unwind. Option to rent the pontoon is a wonderful thing that I noticed not a whole lot of other homes offered. Just to know it’s there is great. Owners were quick and great with getting back with us when we made the decision to take the boat.

Great Location!
Location was great, and more suited for the warmer weather stay. Was not impressed with the cleanliness and overall condition of the property. However, it did suit our needs for a work trip.
Made our extended stay safe and comfortable. If you have any questions or concerns especially with water level talk to Jennifer. Jennifer is every quick to respond and owns right next door. They have a nice pontoon available to rent as well!

Why they chose this property
We chose this neighborhood because it offers the perfect blend of peace, beauty, and convenience—a combination that’s surprisingly hard to find on Lake Gaston. Sunset Point is known for its quiet, friendly atmosphere and its calm, scenic cove that’s ideal for swimming, relaxing, and enjoying the lake without heavy boat traffic.
At the same time, it’s close to everything we love about the area—marinas, restaurants, grocery stores, golf courses, and lake activities—so you can enjoy the serenity of the water without feeling isolated.
This part of the lake also has some of the best sunset views, which is exactly why we fell in love with it. It’s peaceful, safe, and welcoming—truly the kind of place where you can unwind, reconnect, and make lasting memories.
What makes this property unique
This is a highly desirable, quiet area of Lake Gaston—close enough for easy access to marinas, restaurants, and activities, yet tucked away in a peaceful cove that offers quiet, calm water perfect for swimming, floating, and relaxing. Guests can enjoy the water without the constant boat traffic common on the main lake. This is ideal for families, first-time boaters, or anyone wanting a safe, serene space.
Most lake rentals require guests to drive to a marina, complete paperwork, and then transport the boat. Your property has the pontoon already in the boathouse, ready to go—rare and extremely convenient. Guests can walk down, hop in, and start their day on the water.
