Kauai Sunset & Ocean Views from Atop the Plumeria Trees
This location is truly special! While unwinding from a long day at the beach or hiking, I sit on the lanai with a cool, refreshing beverage or lay on the bed with the windows open and I feel like I am in the most luxurious tree house, simply magical. Where else can you look out a window, watch the waves roll in, the humpback whales frolicking(during whale season), golfers playing on the Makai Course and the Albatrosses dancing? You are atop the fragrant Plumeria Trees and you look out the bedroom window to the ocean or look out the slider, onto the lanai, for an amazing sunset, through the palm trees. Beauty embraces you! You walk out the front door, to the pool, or to the Championship Makai Golf course for a sunrise or sunset walk. Go for a short walk to Sea Lodge and there is a short trail (slippery when it has been wet)down to the beach, for snorkeling, sea turtle watch or simply enjoying the sun. The No Shore of Kauai is so lush and tropical. We have never tired of the beauty it embraces us with, year round! The sights are spectacular and abundant, as are the beaches. An outdoor enthusiasts playground and an artist's paradise! You are walking distance to cafe's, markets and simply a short drive(2.1 miles) from the legendary town of Hanalei. It continues to be our treasured home away from home, for 22 years!
We love to pack up our insulated backpacks with enough goodies to last a full day at the beach, for playing in the surf, paddle boarding or just enjoying the beauty that embraces you. Kids, dogs, adults frolicking in the bay, watching the others strolling along the old Hanalei Pier, taking photos, kids jumping off into the bay, laughter and sounds of excitement abound. Then you look up to this majestic mountain where the crown is always hiding in the cloud, with white ribbons of falls cascading down, against green velvet. You just sit back take a deep breath and say, 'Wow, I am living my dream!'

About the host
Hosted by Pamela Francis
This is a family owned condo, our home. My sister is a private chef in the S.F. Bay Area, my husband is a General Contractor, in Lake Tahoe, for 47 years (originally from the Bay Area) and I am a Realtor, at Compass in So Lake Tahoe and I have lived in Lake Tahoe, for 47 years (originally from the Bay Area). Our families continue to grow and we have had the most memorable, very special vacations together, on this magical island. We love to golf, hike, walk, take epic numbers of photos and relax on the beach, snorkeling, SUP and surfing. Kauai is truly our home away from home. Lake Tahoe is also paradise, but nothing is more exciting than to know we have a tropical winter home to escape to.
Why they chose this property
Our families in Lake Tahoe and San Francisco fell in love with Kauai, about 27 years ago. Once we became the owners of this special condo, our love continued to grow for this "Garden Island" paradise. When it is time for a trip, to get out of the snow, winter or simply a break from our busy lives, there is only one place that comes to my mind and that is Kauai. We have shared our love for Kauai with our children, grandchildren, other family members, friends and it has become "the paradise" for all that have experienced it. There is always a bit of sadness and a couple of tears when it is time to say Aloha!
What makes this property unique
It is our home, not a Hotel! Staying in our home you get to embrace the "local vibe". We love the lush flora, waterfalls, views, scenery, birds, lizards, sunrises, sunsets, beaches, cafe's, the community, all within steps - to short drives, from our doorstep. Princeville is in the No Shore of the island, which may get a little more rain, but most of the time, it is a quick shower to cool things off, ignite the waterfalls, create magical rainbows and make all the fauna colors vibrant. The abundance of beaches is a BIG attraction for us, but I have to admit, I do have a couple of favorites. The farmers market in Princeville, walking distance, is not to be missed, on Saturdays, at 9:30 - 12:30. The most beautiful, assorted veggies, fruits, flowers, crafts and deeelicious foods. A local plays music and sings, while you sit, enjoy your treats & the beautiful views of the mountains. Kauai is an island of outdoor activities, beautiful sights and star gazing. For those who like a little night life, you may find it at the larger resorts, where there are some spectacular island shows. If you have never been to Kauai, it is a must and I know you will return.
