Caccini or del Corona Palace
Built in the 15th century by the Ferrantini family, it passed to the Caccini family in the 16th century. The palace is reached through a noble portal, designed by Bartolomeo Ammannati in the mid-sixteenth century. It leads to the beautiful loggia with cross vaults, embellished with grotesques and allegorical figures, facing the inner courtyard and the historic garden according to the typical typology of the Florentine Renaissance. The rooms of the palace have frescoed vaults, painted in the 16th and early 17th centuries, during a second phase of renovation of the palace at the time when it was inhabited by another part of the family. The initials GCAF are engraved in the lintels of the palace's ground floor, and historian Federico Fantozzi attributed the paternity of the frescoes to Giovanni Caccini Architetto Fiorentino in this way. Further investigations refer the initials to Giovanni Caccini, brother of Alessandro and Prior of Pisa. He was intimate with the Medici family, and he wad commissioned by the Grand Duke of Tuscany Cosimo I de'Medici, to organise the wedding celebrations for Francesco I de'Medici and Giovanna of Austria.
