About this property
The Artist's House, by Veeve
Distinctive style? Check. Masterly design? Check. Ineffable coolness acquired through osmosis? Check, check. If you can't tell yet, we're avid fans of this vibrant, three-bedroom home in Tufnell Park. You'll find the Northern Line just around the corner and famed Hampstead Heath nearby, surrounded by a host of splendid pubs and cafes.
The kitchen is a triumph of modernist design with its repurposed, industrial-style units furnishing a generous amount of workspace, whilst the kitsch dining area offers a convivial space for entertaining. Sweeping wood floors and pared-down interiors are lifted by warm accents and pops of pastel, along with a hearty helping of natural light through sliding doors leading onto a leafy patio garden. Modern freshness is interwoven with old-school chic in the living room, where an understated palette supplies a cool canvas for that striking period fireplace. The bedrooms are all uniquely styled, seamlessly blending vintage features with contemporary details. This attention to detail even extends to the bathrooms, from arresting charcoal tiles to cheering tangerine tones. It's all been thought through here, down to the last neon side lamp.
We Love
The mid-century inspired open staircase that floats up from the kitchen fits perfectly with those industrial-styled interiors. It's also impossible not to love that quintessential townhouse exterior, with its warm accents and rose gold front door. Everything combines together to create a home that's comfortingly classic on the outside and expertly unique within.
Home Truths:
No smoking, pets, or parties! There are three floors and steps up to the front entrance. The home is alarmed. You'll find a separate laundry room available. The sofa in the living room can be opened out into a sofa bed suitable for one adult or two young children to share. Please note, there is no handrail on the staircase, so this property may not be suitable for younger children just finding their feet. Parking is free on weekends with plenty of pay and display options nearby. Although we always endeavour for accuracy, there may be rare occasions where the listing photography and description do not provide an exact representation of the home’s amenities.

Why they chose this property
This area is full of lovely Victorian houses with tree lined streets and pretty gardens. It has easy transport link to centre of London but has a wonderfully village-like feel.
Tufnell Park is walking distance to the East side of Hampstead Heath a huge oasis of beautiful green parkland with playgrounds, tennis courts , a cafe and great runs and walks. In the centre is the Georgian jewel Kenwood house, famous for its appearance in the film "Notting Hill”. It houses an incredible collection of pictures including a portrait of Rembrandt and the famous The Musician by Vermeer. The Cafe/ Restaurant in the grounds are also well worth a visit.
Fortess Road that runs from Tufnell Park Station is a great local shopping street full of independent shops including a fantastic butcher, fishmonger, greengrocer, and ice cream parlour, as well as Bear and Wolf — a fabulously child-friendly cafe. The nearby High Street in Kentish Town is good for all your home shopping needs and Camden is only a short bus ride away, with its famous market and eclectic range of shops. And speaking of shops, there's a superb bakery called Bread by Bike selling some of London’s best sourdough, with its own cafe next door. Or, for a taste of Italy, wander over the road to Salvino’s — a delectable deli that's reached local legend status.
The neighbourhood is renowned for its bars and restaurants. The award-winning gastro pub the Junction Tavern is a short walk away. Standout spots for a local pint also include the Lord Palmerston with its inviting garden and the cosy classic, the Pineapple. Soho House's Pizza East is also a great place for family dining.
The area also boasts the Music Venue The FORUM on Highgate Road and there is also good leisure centre and an indoor pool in Kentish Town.
