Athena - the goddess of reason, intelligence, activity, arts and literature. Daughter of the great Zeus

On entering the villa, you will walk through large glass doors to a cosy and welcoming living area. If you look behind you, you will see the large 55 m2 private swimming pool within perfect view. There is a spacious deck with a lounge and plenty of sun loungers and parasols around the pool. On your right there is an outside bar, professional fridge, and built-in BBQ to enjoy warm summer evenings.

The villa consists of 3 levels. On the middle floor there is a spacious living area, a dining area for 10, and a fully equipped kitchen, a veranda with a lounge corner, and an outside dining area for 12. On the lower floor there are 2 double bedrooms (one of them with an extra single bed), a twin bedroom, and a large bathroom. On the upper floor you will find 2 double bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms, and a large private terrace with the most peaceful views over the olive groves.

Cleaning service before arrival and after departure, and a mid-stay clean (only when staying 10 nights or longer) are included in the rental price. An additional cleaning can be booked prior to an arrival at an additional charge.

*By the new Greek 2024 end of resilience climate crisis law, your host will be obliged to charge you €15 per night for the climate tax fee, to be paid upon arrival by cash or card  VISA/MASTER/DEBIT, depending on each villa's payment method.

Excellent villa, perfect for family celebration

Villa met nearly all our expectations and suited our family birthday celebration group perfectly. Location is good, just outside of little port of Sisi and only 10 minute walk into the town where there are lots of bars and restaurants. Photos are clever at not showing that the villa is right beside another similar size villa and on a road that one or two coaches pass by every hour during the day. Saying that, with the gates closed, we had great fun in the pool at the front of the villa all day long without feeling too overlooked. Would recommend it highly for a family group. Audrey and her team could not have been more helpful, recommending wonderful photographer, Graham, and excellent caterer Eleni. Anything that needed attention she sorted immediately.

Excellent minimalist modern Villa, responsive host

Super space for family of 5 with 3 big lads. Proper sized beds and rooms. End Villa in set of 3 but not overlooked. Very responsive and helpful host with strong links into local services to add to the holiday experience. 10 min walk to Sisi bars and restaurants. Jolly Roger recommended for any sport you don’t want to miss!

Romslig hus med alle fasiliteter. Stort og fint basseng. Barområde rett ved bassenget med masse kjøleplass til drikke og mat. Her var det også mulig å søke skyggeplass. Vi var 9 personer og hadde god plass både inne og ute.

Beautiful villa a few minutes from Sissi

This is a lovely place located in a cluster of three modern villas a few minutes outside of the town of Sisi. The listing accurately describes the space and amenities. It is spacious, clean, and a great home base for staying with a group of friends and exploring Crete. We had a number of complications with the house while we were there, including a medical emergency of one of our group. Audrey and her staff always came immediately and were helpful in making sure that somebody was around to help with communication if needed. The only thing that I wish I knew before arriving is that the address listed on Vrbo is for the management office, not the property itself. Sisi and all of its restaurants and shops are wonderful, but a little bit of a walk. Also, it was helpful to rent a car to be able to explore further on our own, although I suggest getting the smallest vehicle you can tolerate. That being said, this villa is an excellent place to stay. It is very well managed, and Audrey's team has great suggestions for how to enjoy Crete. Here recommendations for a private chef and boating expedition were great experiences.

Super sixtieth birthday holiday

Great place to stay, everything you would want and the village of Sissi is lovely, small enough to get to know the llocals and big enough to dine at a different place every night and only a short walk away. Potomus beach is a 10 min drive away and was one of the best we visited with a great taverna. My group all thought we were super lucky to find villa Athena and Sissi.

Beautiful villa with easy walk to town.

We went for a 50th birthday celebration with the family and absolutely loved it. The outside bar proved to be my favourite feature and such fun. We did go in the pool but it was cold at this time of year as expected even though the outside temperature was still quite warm. The upstairs bedroom door handle broke as the door was difficult to close but they were aware of this and didn't charge us. I assume this will be fixed for next visitors. Eva was really helpful throughout the stay and let us stay longer on the day of departure as the villa was to be empty the following week which was greatly appreciated. All mod cons in the kitchen and plenty of space and room in the large fridge.

Incredible stay made very special by Villa Athena!

A wonderful, spacious villa that didn't disappoint in any shape or form. So many areas to sit and relax made every day and evening unique and special. If you weren't chilling by the pool then you could be by the bar having a drink or relaxing reading a book on one of the many balconies. The villa is situated perfectly from Sissi which was a few minutes drive away and had some fantastic restaurants. Big thank you to Audrey who was there on our arrival and then met with us the next day to give us a debrief on the area, things to do, places to see, where to eat etc. She was always available on the phone as well so any queries we had were answered instantaneously. So sad not to still be at Athena but hopefully see you next year ! Yamas !

A holiday to remember - perfect on all levels !!!

Athena - 3rd - 16th July , 2015 One of the most amazing relaxing holidays with our three young boys!!! From start to finish. Athena is a true gem if you are lucky enough to stay there. We loved every moment of our 13 night stay and already thinking about returning!! The views from the terrace are breathtaking and so peaceful. The pool and outdoor space is wonderful. The villa is extremely spacious and decorated beautifully, with lots of little extras. Upon arrival, Audrey met us at the villa and showed us around. Please take her advice on all restaurants, she is a book of knowledge on the surrounding areas. We went one night to a restaurant off her list and we regretted it!! No request was to big or small for her or her team. She really runs a tight ship and we could'nt recommend "luxury villas on Crete" enough. Definitely a family that will be returning........ A fantastic holiday!

I could not recommend 'Luxury villas on Crete' enough! The villa itself is absolutely stunning- even the pictures on this website don't really do it justice! First and foremost, the mountain views from the villa are simply breathtaking - particularly at dusk, the location makes for some remarkable panoramas. The poolside area is fantastic, featuring a large bar and outdoor fridge, and the sun loungers are particularly comfortable! There are also parasols providing ample shade for those who want it. Inside, the villa is beautifully decorated and the equipment all modern. All bedrooms have air-conditioning, there is huge amount of cupboard space, and the bathrooms are spotless. Throughout, Audrey was the perfect host. Upon our arrival at the villa, she warmly greeted us and recommended activities, taxis and restaurants in the local area. One night, there was a leak in the kitchen fridge and within 5 minutes of our reporting it to Audrey one of her colleagues had arrived and fixed the problem. Our departure day was also a changeover day, and our flight was late at night - Audrey was, however, amazingly helpful in allowing us use of the facilities of another villa during the day; a kindness without which we would have been stuck, so we can't even begin to express our gratitude to Audrey. As regards location, the villa is only a 10 minute walk from the fishing village of Sissi, where there are supermarkets, car rental/quad bike hire shops, and boutique restaurants dotted around the harbour. There is also a beautiful, private beach a further 15 minutes away on foot. We spent our last few nights in the harbour, and the quiet picturesque surroundings coupled with the views of the sunset over the sea really put the perfect end to a most fantastic holiday - and all credit to Audrey and the 'Luxury villas on Crete' team!

Vakantie Villa Athena

Wij hebben van een geweldige vakantie genoten in Villa Athena in Sissi. Het huis is ontzettend mooi en het uitzicht is enorm rustgevend. Het huis is heel schoon en het onderhoud van het zwembad is voortreffelijk. Van schoon en fris zwemwater is hier echt sprake zoals de foto's ook aangeven. De service is tot in de kleinste details heel goed verzorgd zoals de transfer vanaf de luchthaven, het regelen van de huurauto's, een hapje en koel drankje aanwezig als je arriveert. De hartverwarmende gastvrijheid van Audrey en Bas, het aanbevelen van leuke restaurants en de mooiste plekjes van Kreta worden je allemaal geadviseerd. Ik heb nu al heimwee naar dit mooie plekje waar we zeker terug gaan!

Zauberhafter Urlaub

Wir haben im April einen super Familienurlaub in dieser schönen Villa gemacht. Es ist ein tolles Haus, großzügig geschnitten, das Drum Herum , Pool, Garten, Grillplatz, alles perfekt!!! Die Besitzerin war ausgesprochen freundlich, umsichtig und hilfsbereit, ist auf alle Wünsche eingegangen und versorgte uns mit guten Tipps. Sisi selber ist ein kleiner ruhiger netter Ort , die Landschaft ist geprägt durch Berge, Olivenplantagen und die Nähe zum Wasser. Insgesamt war es zauberschön :) Danke Corinna im Namen meiner Familie

Fantastic Holiday villa

Thank you Audrey and Bas for a fantastic holiday at Villa Athens. The villa certainly deserves its luxury description – spacious bedrooms, great kitchen and dining areas and a fabulous pool. From the moment that we arrived you looked after us very well, giving us lots of useful information about local shops, restaurants and amenities. We had intended to visit lots of places in Crete but the Villa was so relaxing we hardly left it! The Villa is in a great location so close to Sisi which had everything we needed. I would certainly recommend the Villa to friends looking for a relaxing and special holiday. Thanks again for helping to make our holiday such a success. Gerard

Every year myself and a group of friends book a villa for the last bank holiday in August in a different country. This year decided to try Crete. After many internet searches we found www.luxuryvillasoncrete.com. After much deliberation of the extensive choices of Villas we decided to book the Athena. From the first contact to the last day of our holiday Audrey was extremely helpful, informed and patient. When we arrive we were met by Audrey and she gave our party a thorough tour around the Villa and around the local area pointing out the best restaurants, bars and supermarkets. First I must tell you how perfect the villa is for a holiday. The villa is just great with enough space for everyone (there were 10 in our group) but it is the outside area that makes it extra special. The pool and bar area are fantastic with great fridges to keep your drinks cool. The Villa is within a 10 minutes lovely walk to Sissi which is a full of character with impressive restaurants, bars and a local supermarket plus a very good local butcher for all your needs. Ok now back to Audrey and Sebastian. As I have said before we book a different place every year and have never had better personnel service and friendship. Nothing was too much trouble and they were on hand to answer any questions as their knowledge of Crete is excellent, whatever we wished to do or know this special couple were on hand to guide and support us. Restaurants, places of special interest, that hidden cove, nothing was too much trouble. This made our visit extra special and we will definitely return again which is a first for our party.
