Spent 17 nights here , it s small but has everything you need and much better than a hotel room would definitely recommend if u have a dog .. lovely walks from the doorstep
Beautifully situated along the canal. Short drive to Blenheim palace, Oxford or Bicester village for shopping. The cottage is clean and cosy. We had dinner at the jolly boatman on Saturday evening. We were very lucky with the weather.

“The Dovecote” by name sets your expectations for a small, intimate getaway. The property is small, but perfect for two people and the patio area is a lovely place to enjoy morning coffee or end-of-day drinks and watch the narrowboats glide along the canal. It is just as advertised and we’ll be back again. I’d suggest changing the two quite rigid kitchen chairs for something a bit more flexible-wicker? But just a perfect place for quiet and tranquility.

Perfect Location for Blenheim Palace
Initial impressions were disappointing, due to how small the accommodation was, and the price charged. The location is fantastic, right at the side of the canal. Quiet, peaceful, and lots of lovely walks with nice pubs on the way. The garden has so much potential, but is overgrown and not landscaped. Again, when paying a premium rate for a property, you shouldn’t have an issue running out of hot water. Not I might add, because of eco friendly issues, as stated, but because of a cheap, mechanical timer set for an economy 7 rate. The unvented cylinder should have been on 24/7, and left to the thermostat to ensure we had unlimited hot water. Very poor, especially when charging over 200 per night. Overall, it served a purpose.
