Serene Setting on the Platte River

Spacious four bedroom/three full bath home sits nestled in the woods on the Platte River in the Sleeping Bear Dunes Region of Michigan. The property features two master suites, one up and one down. The house is furnished and includes a fully stocked kitchen and linens and bedding are provided for your convenience. There is a large loft for families to gather and watch movies or play games while enjoying the view of the scenic Platte River. Enjoy the outdoors on the large deck equipped with grill and an outdoor dining table. Sit and relax on one of the two docks or drop a line and fish for a bit. A fire pit is available for an evening fire.

The property is located close to the beaches of Lake Michigan. The many outdoor activities available include, kayaking, dune climbing, golf, hiking, biking, miniature golf, skiing, snowmobiling and more. Explore the many lakes in the area, including Platte Lake, Little Platte Lake, Big Glen Lake, Little Glen Lake, Otter Lake and many more. Crystal Mountain Ski Resort is minutes away and is open year round. The quaint towns of Honor, Empire and Glen Arbor are just a few nearby places to dine and shop.

This is the third time our group has stayed at this location and it never disappoints! The house is clean, it fits multiple adults very well, the location is fantastic for what we need, and the extra kayaks came in handy this time. Check in and out procedures are super easy to follow. The property is nice, although the access down to the river is a bit difficult and the chairs around the newly formed fire pit were not in the best condition, but we had brought our own anyway. I'm sure we will continue to utilize this great space!

Spent three nights at this peaceful home with three of our kids and their significant others (18-23 years old). The home was plenty big enough, with the river right out the door. We enjoyed the grill, the firepit, the kayaks and the kitchen while we enjoyed the time with family nearby. Host was extremely responsive and a pleasure to communicate with. Would stay again!

This was a great property for our annual vacation with our adult kids. There was plenty of sleeping room, and it was nice having three full-size bathrooms. And we loved the large kitchen where everyone always tends to hangout. The weather wasn’t very cooperative so we weren’t able to enjoy the river like we hoped, but it was beautiful. It was also very convenient to the various places we planned to visit. Overall, an awesome long weekend.

Host was communicative, property was clean. Location allowed for easy traveling to sleeping bear, empire, Frankfort, traverse city. Host provides extra value with use of canoes and trailer. Large home that was enjoyable for all ages with a game area in the basement and a large dining room for board games at night. A refresh would demand 5 stars-overall, I would not hesitate to stay here again.
