About the host
Hosted by Dean Baker
Hi, I'm Dean and with my wife Antonia we are your hosts in our adjoining guest house, The Old Forge.
Why they chose this property
Our residence is next door to The Old Forge in The Smithy. We are truly fortunate to live in the Cotswolds. I was introduced to the area when through Antonia, as she has family in Burford (3 miles from Little Barrington). I enjoy having my brother-in-law & both new and long-term friends nearby.
Short fact...I helped my brother-in-law tidy the garden when the former owner of The Smithy & The Old Forge lived here. The refurbishment of the properties was completed by my brother's-in-law brother-in-law!
What makes this property unique
The Pevsner Architectural Guides (the definitive guides to Great Britain architecture) states that Little Barrington "is one of the most appealing village scenes in the Cotswolds". The Smithy (our residence next door) is noted for its 'reset' 16c features including an upper window and its entrance archway.
