The accommodation is located in a beautiful little town and has everything your heart desires. It is very tastefully furnished, and we and our whole family felt very comfortable. It was also very quiet at night, and we were able to set off on many wonderful excursions from there. Many thanks to the owners; we felt well looked after at all times.

House was well appointed and set up. Few cobwebs around but generally clean.Sky should be updated for the Winter months when adults tend to stay in at night.Generally comfortable.Bathrooms could be updated with better fittings and cubicles rather than over the bath.

Peaceful Village Experience

The cottage is beautiful and spacious. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and a large Tesco is about 8 minutes away. The beds are incredibly comfortable, a rarity in a rental property! The location is central to so many amazing sights. Excellent stay in the Cotswolds!

4 Day Cycling Tour in the Cotswolds

We had a wonderful time staying at Caffrey’s Cottage. The location was perfect as our home base for our 4 day cycling tour through the nearby villages. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need for home cooked meals and the front and back garden were lovely. The only thing on arrival was we noticed some cobwebs and potato bugs on the floor that we had to vacuum up. Everything else was seamless. We will definitely be back!

beautiful cottage

The location suited our requirements, a quiet village within easy driving distances to numerous villages/towns in the Cotswolds. The cottage interior is lovely, high class comfortable furniture and supplied with everything you could possibly need for a short holiday and most importantly perfectly clean.

Weekend break

The cottage was immaculate - clean and with high quality fitments throughout. The owners were very helpful. There was full internet access, which my adult sons loved. The rooms were very cleans an with a large spacious lounge / diner /kitchen ( a la Center Parcs design!) and there was a really helpful stock of necessities, including a welcome cake, which was a lovely touch. The heating was on auto setting and even when cold did not require altering. Altogether a really lovely break for my wife's birthday

Good value for money. Would sleep 6 but better 3 or 4 adults and 1 or 2 children. The water tower has no storage or space except for the 2 small beds. The dining rooms chairs should be replaced. They will break soon.Kitchen is extremely well set up. Very impressed with that.

Cozy, charming, clean, and convenient!

We LOVED staying here! What a beautiful cottage and neat property with the back garden and water tower suite. It was THE PERFECT location for exploring the Cotswolds. We found it very close to all the major things we had hoped to see, driving around was a breeze. The host was very nice to work with, and very helpful in all instructions. After a few days in a tiny flat in London this was so nice to have all the room this cottage provided to spread out and relax. The neighborhood (I guess you’d call it) was pretty, quiet, and safe. It was nicely decorated, and easy to accommodate a larger family. The beds were very comfortable and I thought the landscaping was beautiful and picturesque. I wish we could have stayed and enjoyed it longer but we will definitely remember this property and hope to stay here again should we be lucky enough to visit the Cotswolds again. It was everything I had hoped to find for my dream cottage in the Cotswolds stay.

Caffrey's cottage was a delight and we're grateful to Mike for such helpful communication throughout. The property is very well appointed and offers access from the front door to main walking routes for the Slaughters and Naunton as well to Stow itself (a 25-30 minute walk and barely any distance in a car).

Great central location for exploring the Cotswolds

Listing is very accurate - lots of space, was clean, kitchen was well appointed. Given the warm temperatures during our July stay, we definitely appreciated that fans were available - a nice touch. Note the washing machine is in the water tower building and the dryer is in the garage - not a problem, but it does necessitate going outdoors do to laundry. The Golden Ball is a few minutes walk away and a decent pub - The Porch House in Stow-on-Wold was very nice as well. A tour of the Cotswolds Distillery was a high point of our stay, just a 30 minute drive. This rental in Lower Swell was well positioned to take advantage of the many nice walking trails in the Cotswolds.

I wanted to share what an amazing time we had during our stay at the lovely cottage. From start to finish, our experience was nothing short of exceptional. The check-in process was incredibly smooth, and communication with the hosts was seamless, making everything so much easier for us.The cottage itself is perfectly appointed, with every detail thoughtfully considered. There were four of us – my husband, mother-in-law, and our eighteen-year-old son, who absolutely loved staying in the tower! It was an ideal setup for him to have his own space, which he thoroughly enjoyed.Overall, our stay was fantastic, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to spend our time together. Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience!

Great location, very central and very close to everything North and South Cotswolds. The property was amazing, Very roomy, very clean, everything you would need. If anything the pictures dont do the property justice, it was nicer and larger than we expected. Located in Lower Swell, which is a very quaint village but right down the street from Stow On The Wold for food, shopping, and pubs. Our host Mike was very responsive with directions, information about the location, and available if needed. When we return to the area in the future we look forward to staying at the cottage again.

A lovely Stay

We very much enjoyed everything about our stay. The cottage was lovely and the village very quiet and relaxing. We were fortunate to find this place last minute when another booking fell through due to flooding. We would absolutely stay again. The only negative was the spider webs. There were quite a lot of them in harder to reach places and I killed 4-5 spiders while we were there. These don't bother me but my children are not as calm about insects. I would recommend the cleaning folks focus more on ensuring those are addressed.

Excellent Stay in the Cotswolds!

Mike was very great in hosting us, and the home is amazing! It had all the amenities that you'd look for, and the location was superb. We really loved that it was super ready for us to just enjoy as a home base as we explored the Cotswolds. The only things I can say about the home that could be improved is that just like all other Cotswolds homes (if you've never been) there is always the bug or two that you see. Especially in the water tower. And the heating was a little tricky to figure out, but if you're used to the UK appliances, you'll probably have a better time with it. But overall, an excellent stay and highly recommended!

About the host

I live near Ashbourne in Derbyshire, the so called "Gateway to the Peaks" but I have always loved travelling to the Cotswolds for long weekend breaks and holidays. I felt the time was right back in 2016 to purchase my own country bolthole in the area and be able to explore even more of this beautiful part of the country.

Why they chose this property

From the moment I first walked into Caffreys Cottage, I immediately felt at home and the feeling of space generated by the open plan ground floor was inherent from that moment. The Cottage has the benefit of all modern facilities but also has the character features that I was looking for.

What makes this property unique

I believe that the Cottage is a real home from home, is bright and airy in the summer but also cosy and snug in the colder months. Furnished beautifully, comfort has not been compromised and the location is perfect to take full advantage of all that the Cotswolds has to offer.
