We had a great time,the apartment was clean , spacious and the pool and facilities were excellent.Chris and Ann were really helpful giving lots of information and even arranged our airport transfers.The apartment is in a great place with plenty to see and do in walking distance.

Getting away from the January Blues
Having visited Calahonda several times I am well acquainted with the area. This was a first visit to the apartment in The Medina Block 1. It is very well located for all facilities, situated just across the road from the El Zoco commercial centre and approximately 5 mins walk across the main coastal road to the beach and boardwalk. We did not hire a car this time, the public transport is easily accessible from the apartment and very, very cheap!
The apartment is very clean with every facility to make a 3 week winter stay a comfortable experience.

Nice apartment well located for facilities in Calahonda
Good apartment,having all the facilities you require whilst on holiday,and situated within a secure development.It is very well located for the many bars,restaurants,supermarkets as well as local beaches.Good base for exploring the wider area as we did with our hire car,but as advertised,a hire car is not essential at this apartment.It is great having the 2 outside areas at the apartment,and the communal pool and surrounding area is brilliant-very well maintained,and not that busy at least late September/early October when we visited.
Chris was great in the lead up to the holiday,keeping in touch,and providing useful information for the apartment and surrounding area.The meet and greet service undertaken locally also worked well.
We would definitely consider using this apartment again if returning to the area,and have no hesitation in recommending.

About the area
If all the information about activities and tourist attractions sounds like hard work, the beach at Calahonda is only 5 minutes walk away from the apartment.
There are some brilliant clean and well-maintained award-winning beaches nearby with full catering and safety features! These are now reached by a brilliant new wooden walkway from Calahonda to La Cala - perfect for that evening stroll to your favourite beach bar!
Our pools have recently been re-opened after a major upgrade. The Community has also in 2016 had a major restoration and repainting programme and now its Moorish features are highlighted! Being a garden apartment, access to the Community garden area and Pools is direct from the pergola and terraces! We have 2 private garden areas so you can breakfast in the shaded sun and then spend the afternoon on the sun loungers!
Also just across the road there is a wealth of small and interesting shops selling everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to hardware and from wine to your magazines and newspapers.
This part of the coast is not only famous for its many days of bright sunshine and blue skies. It's also known as the 'Costa del Golf' quite simply because there are so many world class golf courses within easy reach of the apartment!
If your passion for activity does not include golf, there’s mountain-hiking, ski-ing, go-karting, plenty of safe swimming beaches and all sorts of water sports (see the local guides provided for details).

How to get there
Only 30 mins from Malaga Airport but you don’t really need a car to get around as the restaurants, shops, bars and the beach etc are very near to the apartment and the taxi and local bus service is excellent. The bus and train service along the coast is also excellent.
We can help with arranging for airport transfers to and from the apartment. Alternatively we can help clients arrange low cost car hire. There's a company nearby which offers day trips to a wide range of interesting places to visit at reasonable costs.

Facilities of the Calahonda area: banks incl. the Caixa, Solbank, Deutsche Bank, BBV, Santander. Many bars and restaurants within walking distance of the apartment. Only 30 minutes drive from Malaga Airport (or try Gibraltar or Seville). Supermarkets. Rent-a-car companies. Only 5 minutes walk from the beach. 3 commercial centres with a wide variety of stores, including gift shops, tobacconists,chemists, dry cleaners and hairdressers Taxis and good public transport system. Medical centres nearby (open 24 hours). This part of the coast is home to more than 30 world class golf courses with their associated driving ranges, golf schools and shops and there is even a 9-hole one in Calahonda itself!

About Chris and Ann Algar
Ann and Chris live in Warwickshire in England. Chris has retired from the NHS and Ann has retired from retail. We both enjoy our grown up families and see them as often as we can. Our own lives are really busy with friends and interests like dancing, gardening, live entertainment. Chris keeps himself fit with long distance walking and with the garden and Ann with swimming yoga and walking. We love good food and wine (so always look forward to trying new things in the many restaurants in or near Calahonda!). Ann is trying to learn Spanish and we both practice our own versions when we are on our holidays! It's great to have an apartment to let out and we are really pleased when people make return visits. We always work hard to make our clients feel special and do our best to give the best customer service!

Why Chris and Ann Algar chose Calahonda
When we were looking for a retreat in Spain we fell in love with this part of Andalucia. There was a lovely mixture of beautiful flowers and scenery and a lively but not over-crowded social life. The community itself was one of the more established but has its own charms and characters! As we have continued to visit this area for holidays or to use the apartment as a base to visit places further afield e.g. cruises, Seville, Jerez etc, we have come to enjoy the people and places more each time we go back and we always look forward to going back to discover new places and new experiences! It's sometimes difficult to take in that this world - so different from our life at home in a small country village miles away from the sea - is only a 2 1/2 hour flight away + 30 mins from airport!
What makes this Apartment unique
You will see from the property details that our apartment has many attractive facilities which we hope our guests will enjoy. You are able to use it without needing a car as we can arrange airport transfer and there is a brilliant public bus service and coach excursion companies. Many like though to just relax in our gardens or by the pool with a good book and a glass of wine! There are many great places to eat in within easy reach of the community and they suit all tastes both in cost and in cuisine. When we stay though we mix this with just shopping locally at the well-stocked supermarkets and cooking in or on the BBQ. It's a place where you certainly have the best of all worlds if you choose to - or where you can just relax and live economically. The choice really is yours!
