Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is a split level terrace area and sloping banks/drops within the property grounds.. The Bungalow has a lovely, homely feel as soon as you walk through the door, with a cosy wood burner and reclining sofas ideal for cosying up after a day out exploring this beautiful area of Northumberland. Ideally located only a few hundred yards from two excellent pubs serving food. Thropton is located just under two miles from the historic and pretty small market town of Rothbury.
With a lovely front garden with seating, The Bungalow is slightly elevated with wonderful views over the village and beyond. The two kingsize bedrooms are ideal for up to two couples or a small family, and with a walk-in shower, is perfect for those that want to be all on the ground floor. The modern kitchen/dining area means you can enjoy family meals together.
Rothbury is a super base for exploring the stunning countryside which can be done on foot, by bike or by car. With many pubs and cafés, and some bespoke shops, there is something here for all tastes and age groups. Nearby you can visit Cragside House, the home of Lord Armstrong on the outskirts of the town, a beautiful National Trust visitors’ site and walkers can visit the Simonside Hills for exhilarating rambles.
Rothbury is known as the Capital of Coquetdale and is ideally located for exploring the nearby villages, set on the edge of the National Park with easy access over to the Northumberland Heritage Coast (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and only 12 miles from Alnwick famed for the castle used in some Harry Potter scenes. The National Park can be easily reached and Kielder has a host of water sports. The drive along the lake is pretty spectacular and the dark skies at night are a big visitor attraction.
The Northumberland Coast is a wonderful day out and Alnwick Castle and gardens is only 14 miles a must for any ‘Hogwarts’ fans, where you can meander through the cobbled streets soaking in the history. Alnwick is also home to Duke of Northumberland and The Alnwick Gardens is home to one of the largest treehouse restaurants in England. Northumberland is one of the friendliest counties to spend your time and wherever you go, you will be sure of a real warm ‘Geordie’ welcome. Beach 18 miles. Shop and petrol station in village.
