This is the PERFECT place to stay! It was actually bigger than what we expected and had a washer. Our family had been traveling for a while and needed to do laundry. It’s a very central location with an excellent view! I thought we might hear noises from the cafe downstairs but I didn’t hear anything at all. There are stairs so be prepared to lug your suitcase up but that’s everywhere in Italy. The check in process was super easy and this was one of our favorite cities.

If the Il Terrazzino sul Duomo apartment is available to book, then I say you must book it immediately. My husband and I loved our four night stay. Location, location, location and it has a postcard perfect view of the Duomo, morning, day and night. We also enjoyed our Orvieto wine while sitting on the juliet balcony and people watching. The spacious two bedroom apartment was immaculately clean; has excellent water pressure and hot water in the shower, great sound proofing for sleep, and is equipped with a full kitchen and washer. The apartment is also on the top floor, but the stone staircase is wide and gentle. The apartment is literally steps to the PAM market which has all of the provisions that you need. We used the long-term public parking at Piazza Guglielmo Marconi so we could pay with credit card. It's a large lot and was less than a 10 minute walk. To locate the lot, program your GPS to Piazza Cahen and then continue straight to the last road which is Via Postiera. The car park will be on your right. We would also recommend dinner at Charlie (very romantic and delicious) as well as Osteria Mamma Angela.

Host Alessia's apartment was very clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. It was better than pictured. The location was extremely convenient that we could walk to all the attractions. We even received a bottle of wine and snacks from our gracious host upon arrival .

This was our favorite place we stayed out of six during our two week trip.The apartment was spacious, super clean, and had the best balcony view of the Duomo.Our host was very easy to communicate with and left us a bottle of wine and appetizers that were delicious. None of us wanted to leave!

Perfect Week in Orvieto

Having stayed in Orvieto many times over the years, this property was one of my favorites. The location is perfect, the host was easy to contact and helpful.

The apartment is perfectly located with a view of the cathedral and sound of the bells chiming on schedule. We were not greeted by a person, therefore, we had some difficulty learning how to operate appliances etc. We could never figure out how to operate the stove or AC. The stove is gas and we were afraid of a gas leak occurring due to not operating it properly. We decided eating at restaurants would be easier and safer. The AC did not turn on when we attempted to follow the written directions. We were told to plug in the AC, follow the directions and use the remote. Our 2nd attempt failed. Fortunately, the weather was not hot and we could get cool by opening the windows. I noticed another portable AC in the bedroom with the king size bed. We did not attempt turning it on as we chose to sleep in the room with twin beds. The bathroom shower stall is small and showed signs of age. The water pressure was lower than what we are accustomed to. The apartment should have lamps for comfort lighting. The small round globes do not provide enough light for reading etc. so we used ceiling lights. I made a huge mistake when booking because this apartment has no elevator and it is located on the 3rd floor. Having to navigate 3 flights of stairs (especially with luggage) was difficult for us. Our taxi driver was kind enough to assist us with carrying luggage on our arrival date and on our departure date. Our stay was ok, however, not one of our favorite memories.
