Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. This delightful upside-down timber clad cottage is situated in a marvellous position in the heart of the pretty village of Aboyne, in Deeside. With direct access onto the village green, a short stroll takes you to the cluster of shops and eateries or the inn along the riverside, perfect for a leisurely bite to eat.
The cottage has been tastefully furnished offering stylish and very comfortable accommodation for couples seeking a relaxing break away. Doors from the spacious dining/kitchen area lead onto a covered patio which in turn gives way to an attractive garden and further sitting-out areas round the back which makes the most of the morning sun and great for barbeques or sitting with a glass of something in front of the chiminea. With a kingsize bedroom and shower room on the ground floor, the upper level comprises a large living room with a fully glazed gable end allowing fabulous views over the village green and beyond. In summer, the village green hosts the Aboyne Highland Games, a feature throughout Aberdeenshire, these games showcase traditional displays and competitions of Scottish culture including highland dancing, caber tossing, and the best of local produce, culminating in the famous Braemar Gathering in September.
Fishing on the Dee, pony trekking at nearby Glentanar Estate and golf at The Aboyne Golf Club, or The Aboyne Loch, splendid walking in the outstanding highland scenery of Deeside, not to mention skiing in winter at the Lecht and Glenshee – an easy drive from the cottage – all within easy reach, there is something to do whatever time of the year. After a day out exploring come back to this little haven of peace and relax in the garden or toast your toes in front of the wood burner on cooler days. Absolute bliss!
