This house is very special. After a meticulous restoration, it has been transformed into a modern, functional, and cosy space just a short distance from such interesting places as Segovia, the Palace of Riofrío—which is within walking distance—and the Palace of La Granja de San Ildefonso. Navas de Riofrío is situated in a beautiful setting, surrounded by greenery just over 80 km from Madrid—a perfect place to relax and enjoy yourself.
The house is 13 km from Segovia’s Plaza Mayor. In addition to visiting the city’s most important sites—such as the Alcázar, the Aqueduct, the cathedral, and the countless churches— there are many fascinating excursions to enjoy in the area, such as visiting the Segovia Aqueduct’s weir, a Roman road, or a prehistoric cave.

The village: The earliest documents referring to the village of Navas de Riofrío date back to 1247. In the 18th century, the village became a centre for sheep shearing due to the quality of its pastures and its location at a major crossroads of the Cañadas Reales. The entire area forms a magnificent enclave that Philip V had already set his sights on for his hunting expeditions and where, years later, Isabel de Farnesio would build the Riofrío Palace, leading to various expropriations in the municipality.
The original Town Hall (Casa del Concejo) gives the square its name. Adjacent to it were the tavern and the blacksmith’s shop. The appearance of the original Town Hall is unknown, but after the demolition of the previous building, a carved stone step was found buried beneath the ground; today it serves as the entrance to the house and most certainly belonged to the original Town Hall.
