The cottage was fully equipped with a lovely garden to the rear. It was very clean when we arrived and perfect for our dog, who loved being so close to the beach. A beautiful setting, part of the Tarka trail for walking and cycling. We tried out the local hostilities which were all very good. A perfect cottage abd would definitely book again.

Nice property. Check in was later than expected due to the cleaner still being there on our arrival at check in time of 4pm . The cleaner was very apologetic very nice and very helpful . She left it spotless when we got in at 4.40. We enjoyed the lounge which was beautifully done and the garden for breakfast . It appears as though the owners are gradually updating the property . The two middle bedrooms , I would say are still a bit dated . The en-suite particularly so . The upstairs bedroom in the eves looked very nice . Good location not far from the big and lovely dog friendly beach . Being very close to Johns of Instow was a bonus . Parking was a bit of an issue but we stayed in September so still lots of restrictions in place . You have a parking permit for your stay at the local Cricket ground but we didn’t use it as we thought it quite away from the house itself. Property down a private narrow lane so very quiet . We normally stay in Appledore and lovely as Instow is we prefer the other side of the estuary where there is more options to eat and walk . Very dog friendly property . Karen the owner is extremely helpful and quick to respond.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our cottage. We’re so sorry that your check-in was delayed…not something that we find acceptable and thankfully has not happened before. It was due to the previous guests leaving the property in an unacceptable state which resulted in our housekeeper having to take alot longer than usual cleaning and servicing the cottage. Really pleased that you found it spotless when she had finished. As you have mentioned, we are continuously updating the cottage and have more projects planned for the new year. We hope that you enjoyed your stay in Instow and of course we would be happy to welcome you back to Nanny’s Cottage in the future. Karen and Mark

Nanny cottage

The property was as described online. Had everthing we needed for a pleasant stay. The garden was a secure place for our dog. It was in a good location near beach and handy for the local pubs and cafes.

Lovely spacious cottage, even nicer than the photos. It is really well equipped with a great patio garden. A sun trap to dine out in in good weather. Very helpful owner and good communication. A lot of love and care has gone into making this a really pleasant place to stay, and a fab location minutes from a dog friendly beach.

Nice property with a good garden, perfect for my family and 2 dogs. A good size which was needed for 4 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs! Just one thing the loo in the en-suite makes a terrible noise when flushed, but everything else was perfect. The beach was dog friendly and the cottage was a good base for visiting Devon.

Thankyou so much for your review and feedback, Barbara. We’re really pleased you enjoyed your time in Instow end liked our cottage. The en-suite bathroom is served by a Saniflo macerator. The sound you can hear is the macerator and pump working to get rid of all the waste water etc. We would be delighted to welcome you back to Nanny’s Cottage in the future. Karen and Mark

Wonderful location, lovely property

We had a lovely stay in Instow. The property is a very short walk from the beach and the town was really lovely. All communication with hosts was clear and friendly. Property was exactly as described and perfect for our needs (3 generations and a small dog!). Would definitely recommend or return ourselves.

One of our favourites

We had been to this cottage last year, we love the fact that it is so close to the beach, restaurants, and Johns deli. The garden is wonderful and was perfect for our two dogs, the cottage has a good flow, it has all the tools needed for cooking meals and has heating as required, Instow and this cottage is one of our favourite places. Not forgetting our new host Karen who responded to our requests with a friendly attitude and a can do approach.

Beautifully presented and tasteful cottage - super location- parking as described and not too inconvenient- good WiFi and fully equipped- great bedrooms and bathroom- no grass outside and close proximity to other properties mean need to be conscious of neighbours. Close to very dog friendly beach - would certainly book again.
