Great stay

Quirky and unusual stay. Very close to the coast and beach, supermarket and take always nearby, plenty of kitchen items to cook with. Bed was very comfortable. Overall, a memorable stay, and excellent communication with owner.

Initially we were very excited about staying at this location, the pictures looked amazing. However, the pictures looked like they may have been taken right after a remodel years ago. We would have liked to use the spa area but the showers were borderline disgusting with mold and mildew that we felt uncomfortable with the cleanliness of the spa area. There was a coating of dust all over the kitchen counters, which we cleaned immediately. We were unable to use the washer of dryer, as someone left old moldy clothes in the wash and some in the dryer. The washer door was filled with water. The room that the washer is in was a complete mess. The two fans were caked with dust and couldn’t be used.We took pictures of the property if there is ability to upload and share pictures I will.

Thank you for your feedback. We are genuinely sorry that the property did not meet your expectations, although we do feel some important context is needed. This is a large, character property and parts of the spa retain the original tiles and fittings, some of which are around 40 years old. Close-up photographs of aged tiles, grout and normal corrosion/wear can unfortunately give a rather misleading impression of the overall cleanliness and condition of the property. Age and cosmetic wear are not necessarily an indication that an area is unclean. That said, the issues you mention regarding the laundry left in the machines and dust on the fans should not have occurred, and these have been raised with our cleaning team. We take cleanliness extremely seriously, and we believe our guests’ experiences over many years provide the fairest reflection of the property. We have received almost 300 five-star reviews for cleanliness and consistently excellent feedback from our guests. This is the first time we have ever received a cleanliness/property rating as low as 4 out of 10, so naturally we were very disappointed to read it. We will, however, take the constructive elements of your feedback on board and continue to maintain and improve the property for future guests.

Well equipped property, and comfy beds, a superb addition is the indoor hot tub, alongside a steam room and sauna, THANKYOU for a great night away and will definitely be visiting again

Ladies weekend trip

Loved the place, really handy having access to our own spa facilities, the hot tub was a definite winner for us. Gary was really quick and helpful with answers to any questions we had. The place was very cosy, kitchen was fully stocked and the location was perfect to amenities close by. Would highly recommend!
