About this property
The Stables, Ground Floor
Large ground floor apartment in a converted barn
A perfect base to explore the City of Wells (England's smallest city) with it's moated Bishops Palace, magnificent Cathedral, and historic Market Place - a hub of bars, cafes and restaurants. Glastonbury with it's legend of King Arthur and of course the Tor and Abbey ruins is a short drive away.
Cheddar and Cheddar Gorge, and of course sampling some Cheddar Cheese is a must on the itinerary, plus Wookey Hole, Bath, Longleat and Weston Super Mare are only a short drive. There are numerous walks, national trust trails through the woods at Ebbor Gorge, and public footpaths, literally on the doorstep.
At the heart of the West Country, Somerset is a destination of dramatic coastline, seaside resorts, epic English countryside, and historic places. Described by the ancient Welsh Celts and the Saxons as the Land of the Summer People, Somerset is a county of captivating contrasts.
Its coast takes in long sweeping sandy beaches, seaside resorts, harbours and marinas, and the dramatic Exmoor coastline. Venture inland to an epic countryside of protected landscapes, rolling hills, wild moorlands, ancient woodlands and wetland habitats, dotted with historic towns and villages.
At the heart of what makes Somerset tick is its's distinctive culture and history that includes willow and cider making, great local food and drink, the legends of Kings Arthur and Alfred and much more.
