About the host
Hosted by Mrs Cathy Hancock
Cathy and Will own The Dairy. We have lived in the main house since 2000 and raised our family here. The house had an attached cottage, which was originally a threshing barn and diary. The old dairy has been carefully renovated into a comfortable holiday home and have been hosting guests since 2003. Our family has now grown up but keep coming back! We have a small dog Otto, a friendly cockapoo. He doesn't go in the guests areas. We are delighted to be able to share this beautiful place with our guests and have met so many lovely people over the years, we have been hosting guests since 2003, but still are always looking for ways to improve the experience.
Cathy and Will Hancock
Why they chose this property
Walking up the hill at the back and looking down at our home, we feel fortunate to live in such a beautiful place. We are surrounded by magnificent and varied countryside. From the craggy Mendip hill tops you can see the coasts of Wales and North Devon. Below us are the wild Somerset levels, wetlands full of birds and flat lanes perfect for easy cycling.
We are only minutes away from England's smallest cathedral city of Wells. Or the exciting and very different cities of Bristol and Bath, with all the culture you could wish for. Parts of the house date back over 1000 years. So we are just the latest custodians to enjoy living in this special place, and are happy to share this with our guests
