Thank you for your lovely comments. We’re so pleased the property suited your party and that you enjoyed your stay. It was a pleasure to host you, and we’d be delighted to welcome you back anytime
The accommodation was very good for our family of eight, plenty of rooms which were comfortable. All the amenities in the kitchen were ample. It is a very quirky apartment with loads of interesting features. The location is very central for beach and local area. One of the downside was the owners dogs barking around 8am every morning. Also because it is an old chapel there was a lot of areas which had cobwebs. Overall we enjoyed our week.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re delighted that the accommodation suited your family of eight so well, and that you found the rooms comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, and the location ideal for enjoying the beach and local area. Capel Mawr is a unique and quirky historic chapel conversion, so we’re pleased you appreciated its character.
We’re grateful for your comments about the areas that could be improved:
• Morning dog noise
The property is clearly listed as dog‑friendly, and our dogs do live on site. They are usually very quiet, but they can occasionally bark briefly in the morning. We understand this may not suit every guest, which is why we make the dog‑friendly nature of the property clear at the time of booking.
• Cobwebs in a historic building
Capel Mawr is an old chapel with very high ceilings and original features. Cobwebs can reappear quickly even after thorough cleaning. We do our best to stay on top of them and will continue to monitor this closely.
• Mattress issue
Although it wasn’t mentioned during your stay, after checkout we found that a mattress had been turned over and was stained underneath. If we had been made aware at the time, we would have addressed it immediately. We always encourage guests to let us know about any concerns so we can resolve them promptly.
we appreciate your feedback as it helps us maintain and improve the experience for future guests
Absolutely outstanding place, the pictures don't do it justice. The hosts were absolutely lovely and very attentive. We were a group of 10. It had brilliant and massive social spaces, the rooms were comfortable, the views were stunning, the property was gorgeous and extremely quirky. Two of the rooms were up a very narrow spiral staircase that wouldn't work for people with mobility issues. But that didn't bother us.It was really great all round, can't recommend it enough. Thank so much for a great stay.

Thank you for such a lovely review. We’re delighted the apartment exceeded expectations and that your group enjoyed the spacious social areas, comfortable rooms, and stunning views. We appreciate your note about the spiral staircase too. You were wonderful guests, and we’d be very happy to welcome you back anytime.
The property was just perfect for our gathering, plenty of space for babies, toddlers, younger people, older people, dogs. It had a very well equipped kitchen, spacious dining area and sitting area. All the furniture and fixtures were robust.
The apartment had everything we needed. It is quirky and has lots of antique and eccentric furnishings. The beds were comfortable and the 5 bedrooms are a good size, especially the master and ensuite. The lounge area is massive with a cosy fire and 3 comfortable sofas and has a bar area too. The kitchen is very well equipped and has everything we need to cook for a larger family gathering. The large dinning tablw has views our to Criccieth Castle and the sea. There is also dedicated parking area that can accommodate 3 cars. The apartment is per friendly. We woould love to visit again.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the character and comfort of the apartment — it really is a unique space, and it’s lovely to know the antique touches and large social areas made your stay special.
I’m especially pleased the bedrooms, cosy fire, and well‑equipped kitchen worked well for your family gathering, and that you were able to make the most of the views of Criccieth Castle from the dining area. The dedicated parking and pet‑friendly setup are things we know guests value, so it’s great to hear they added to your stay.
You were a pleasure to host, and we’d be thrilled to welcome you back anytime.
This is a unique and very special property. Quirky and stylish with plenty of space. We were a group of six and it worked well for us. Each with our own bedroom and personal space. The views out from the front are great.
We found most of what we needed on the kitchen and cooked from scratch two out odd the five nights. The knife collection is spectacular if you wanted to dismember a cow but they are all blunt. A few smaller sharp knives would be good! Access is not the best with several steps to the front door and a large staircase up to the main accommodation. Further stairs to the kitchen and dining area. The upper bedrooms are accessed via a narrow and really impressive metal spiral staircase. The views are worth it but it's hard with big bags and would be difficult with a suitcase. Not for everyone, although kids and young adults would love it. There is limited dedicated parking over the road behind removable bollards. We could fit two cars side by side just. There was space for one more but getting them out would be tricky. There's EV charging at the White lion hotel around the corner where you can charge during the day (residents only overnight).
Overall It's a great venue. Perfect for large groups, family get togethers etc. Criccieth is well placed for access to Snowdonia. It's ten minute walk to the west beach which is less busy and is just as good. Really enjoyed our time here.
We chose this apartment to take the family away for a week in North Wales, where we've stayed before. Ourselves, a couple of "active retirees!" with our 2 sons and their families so 6 adults and 4 kids from 3 to 14.
On arrival we were met by the host. Parking outside for 3 cars plus some on street parking. Up to the 1st floor and there's a massive living room and a few steps up to an equally massive dining and kitchen area. Everything you might want, a big range oven, big fridge and freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, coffee machine etc. etc.
A massive (again!) en-suite and fancy bathroom, 2 more double bedrooms and another 2 bedrooms with twin beds. 2 bath/shower rooms and 3 toilets in all.
Stuff to do: well, the village has all the shops and pubs to keep you going (we cooked most nights) a stroll to the railway station (get the train to Porthmadog, Harlech, Pwllheli, saves parking!), park and mini golf, beaches. We also took a trip to Coed y Brenin for some serious mountain biking on the black route - gentler trails also in abundance. Black Rock Sands was popular with the boys for paddleboarding and bodyboarding but we preferred Abersoch which was sandy, had all the facilities and allowed the family to get bored while I went out on my windsurfer for an hour or two.
Any negatives? Well only that the jigsaw they have there was too hard and defeated us! One more day would have done it!
Many thanks Amanda and Mike, an excellent stay.
