Recently awarded 3 stars by the Périgord Dordogne Tourist Board, Tulipier is a lovely, spacious (107m2) 2 bedroom 2 bathroom holiday villa situated on the Domaine le Brantome, a small private development of similar houses in a wooded area on the outskirts of Brantome . It will comfotably accommodate 4 people in its two bedrooms and open plan living dining and kitchen areas .
Bedroom 1 has a large king size bed and its own dressing room and bathroom with bath with shower over, wash basin and wc en suite. Bedroom 2 has two large single beds and is adjacent to a shower room and a wc room with wash basin. Both bedrooms have high vaulted ceilings and insect blinds have been installed to the windows.
The triple aspect living room area has tv, radio and cd and dvd players as well as fibre optic internet wifi and a french tv box with 100s of channels. A range of games and books are available for guest use. The dining area has a large dining table to seat 6 indoors.
The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, electric cooker and induction hob , microwave, air fryer, fridge with freezer section , kettle, toaster, coffee maker, crockery pans and utensils etc .
Off the kitchen is a utility room with washing machine and tumble drier and barbecue set. The windows/doors are double glazed and have electric roller blinds or wooden shutters .
Outside are two patios , one of which is under cover for eating outdoors and there are grassed areas to sit out on. Sunloungers are provided . Both patios have outdoor tables and chairs for al fresco dining.
There is an allocated parking space in the domaines underground car park which keeps your car sheltered from the sun.
Next door within easy walking distance is the Recre Gourmand restaurant which is usualy rated the number one restaurant on trip advisor in Brantome (booking advisable ) . The resaurant occaisionally hosts musical events in the summer which should not be missed as they are excellent entertainment.
Beds will be made on arrival and sheets, pillowcases, towels are included in the price.
The cleaning fee is also included and is shown as the host fee in the price breakdown and the property will be professionally cleaned between lettings. Local taxes, which are payable to the Tourist office ie the tax de séjour is also collected by VRBO and included in the total price.
Supermarkets - both Aldi and Carrefour are close by and there is a giant Auchan on the way into Perigueux approx 30 min drive . Nearby there are lots of attractions and places to visit including :
The historic town of Brantome, called the Venice of Perigourd , with many restaurants, shops and bars, canoeing, tourist information office and famous 8 th century Abbey is a 20 minute walk along attractive back roads and country paths from the house, or a 5 minute drive . There is lots of free parking by the river which also has a swimming beach.
Perigueux with its UNESCO world heritage listed St Front cathedral, Roman remains at Versunna , restored medieval centre, public golf course etc is approx 30 minutes by car. The lake at St Estephe is a great place for a walk, picnic and a swim and has a popular restaurant Le Moulin.
The Chateau de Puyguihem and caves at Villars are close by and at nearby Bourdeilles there are two chateau for the price of one . St Jean de Cole is a lovely medieval village straight out of a film set about 20 km by car. Further afield the Dordogne valley and Sarlat-la-Canéda are easily reached approximately 90 mins by car as is the Chateau de Hauteforte and the prehistoric sites in the Vézère valley.
The property is managed locally by Leggett Property Management on behalf of the owners and who can deal with any issues locally.
No smoking is allowed in the house but you can smoke outside on the covered patio.
