About this property
Lovely, spacious home with huge rear garden
This is a gorgeous, spacious, well-appointed, warm and welcoming contemporary house in an affluent north London suburb, sitting on a very quiet road directly opposite a nature reserve.
We’re delighted to have hosted TV & film celebrities, sports-people, families welcoming their first-born child into the world (the most heart-warming stay to date!) along with scores of families, business people, individuals and groups from all over the world.
And now you can enjoy it too.
The space
--------------
The home is a bright and airy detached house offering 2,000 square-foot (200 sq m) of internal living space over two floors.
All the bedrooms are large, with three of them having king beds (one – the master bed – is a super-king) whilst the fourth bedroom has a double bed. There’s also a double sofa-bed in the second living room which means there’s a total of five separate sleeping spaces.
The master bedroom also features a separate dressing area featuring multiple built-in wardrobes.
Two of the bedrooms – the master bed upstairs and the downstairs bedroom - have ensuites. There’s also a separate family shower room upstairs and a guest WC downstairs.
The downstairs bedroom can be handy for less mobile people or people who don’t want to be walking up the stairs. Please note that the ensuite for this bedroom has a bath with shower attachment rather than a shower cubicle. Both showers are upstairs.
There are two separate living spaces that can either be closed off via bi-fold doors or opened up to provide one huge through-lounge and dining area that’s around 36 feet (12m) long.
The large gourmet kitchen-breakfast room has underfloor heating, a walk-in pantry, solid granite work surfaces and European appliances including an induction hob.
Both upstairs bathrooms have underfloor heating.
Outside, there’s a private, secure, fully-fenced 180' (55m) rear garden for you to enjoy.
Finishes and furnishings are all to a high standard yet the place still has a very homely and welcoming feel. 20mm solid oak floors, granite worktops in the kitchen and ensuite bathroom, natural stone surfaces in the kitchen and bathrooms, 400 thread count 100% Egyptian cotton bed linen and many other features all add together to make the house feel solid, calm, comfortable and overall, a very welcoming home away from home, whether you're staying for a holiday, for business or anything else.
There's also a travel crib and mattress available for those families travelling with an infant.
Guest access
------------------
You'll have full use of the entire house.
Other things to note
-----------------------------
Parking at the property is easy. There's space for two cars in the driveway and additional free parking available on the quiet street in front of the property.
Finally, a short note to guests coming over from North America and other overseas destinations: it's been our pleasure to open the home to overseas visitors and we know that your flights quite often arrive really early. The last thing you want to do is be hanging around waiting for a mid-afternoon check-in so whenever possible, we let you check into the place earlier. Touch base shortly before your arrival so we can confirm that we can do that for your trip.

About the host
Hosted by Phil Herbert

Hi there.
I was born in New Zealand, schooled in Wales and then went to uni in the Midlands before traveling a bit (OK, quite a lot!) and then getting stuck into work, living in London for 25+ years. I've moved away from London these days but still visit fairly often.
As a keen outdoors enthusiast and proud father of a very active 7-year old, being outside and active is part of good living - part of the reason I bought this property is because I loved the easy access to the park straight across the road. I literally would get home from work, stick on the running gear and dash through the gate into the park for a head-cleansing run!
Along with millions of others, I love the classic combo of good company, good food, good music and a decent wine.

Why they chose this property
Loved the feeling of space and calm that the place had - and still has. Big garden at the back, open green spaces to the front and a nice, light, airy interior all make you feel like you've got space, and privacy.
Hadley Wood has a cute village-like feel whilst still having easy access to shops, parks and a 30-minute train/tube ride into the heart of London.
