Appreciate this property, the owners and all that this location offers. Great place to stay and enjoy the lake from serious fishing, swimming off the dock or just spending time relaxing with family.
Returned for the second time and it feels like our own little weekend retreat home. Comfortable with plenty of room to relax and visit. Hope to be back soon!
The property was very clean and well stocked with the essentials. The view from the kitchen was amazing. Access to deck via the ramps were perfect. Easily accessible by wheelchair. The hosts are amazing.
What a great time we had staying at this quaint cottage on Jordan Lake. Perfect for our family of six, which is a divided house with one at University of AL and another at Auburn. Roll Tide and Go War Eagles! Cottage had great views of the lake, was warm and inviting. Would definitely stay here again.
Celebrated the beginning of summer break with a little trip. The cabin and the lake were perfect for a little relaxation, fishing swimming, tubing, and getting together with family.
We rented the house for my sister to stay while the came in town from NC and although her family was unable to make it due to illness, the rest of the family enjoyed having out Christmas night gathering here. The house was clean and beautifully decorated. There was plenty of room for everyone. We will definitely try to rent this home again next year.

It is a pleasure to host your group! I'm happy we were able to switch your week so that you would have better weather. Too bad the fishing wasn't that great. ALOT of rain and muddy water during the beginning of the month didn't help. We look forward to your return next month!
Perfect lake house right on the water! We had everything we needed for our weekend stay. We will definitely be back!

So happy you enjoyed your stay! We have tried to think of everything we would want if we were visiting. Ya'll were amazing out there fishing and catching from the pier. We have several size life jackets and glad we had a little one for your daughter so she could be down there at water level while fishing.
We enjoyed our stay in this awesome lake house. Very comfortable and clean with everything we needed! Great lakefront property. Loved being right on the water. Enjoyed sipping coffee on the deck and watching the sunrise on the lake. Beautiful place!
Everything was exactly as explained, easy access, property was clean and well kept, excellent lake front view, very comfortable lodging. Looking forward to returning next football season; maybe before then.
We had a very relaxing birthday weekend with friends. The property was clean and well stocked. We brought tubes and had a great time floating off the dock and watching the boats go by.

About the host
Hosted by Annie Cantrell
Rich is from Birmingham AL and Annie is from Boston MA. We met and married in Germany while in the Air Force. After returning to the US we transferred into the Air Force Reserve at Maxwell AFB, Montgomery Alabama until we both retired December 2006. We have lived in our current home on Lake Jordan since early 2006. Rich continued to work in Telecommunications with cell phone tower equipment and retired in 2013. Annie retired from Civil Service in December 2016.
Why they chose this property
When this home came onto the market in July 2016, we knew we had to purchase it. We live on a very quiet cul-de-sac and wanted to keep it that way. Our original intention was for the previous owners to continue to live there but with their declining health they had to move closer to their doctors. At that point, we scratched out heads and said to each other "Now what?" This lot is due West and right next door to our home so we affectionately refer to it as "Our West Wing".
What makes this property unique
In January 2017, we decided to do a complete remodel and renovation to this property (for our "old age"). Since we were both retired, we tore out the walls and floors down to the 2x4s and added 400 sq ft for the bathrooms and laundry. We noticed that there wasn't any sheetrock in the old house so we saved as much of the original wood as we could and reused it when we put the walls back up. We wanted the original feel of the house so we found lots and lots of 'seconds' tongue and groove and used that to rebuild. The cracks and knotholes make it feel original. Annie was adamant that we needed to be able to see the lake upon entering the door for that "WOW" factor, so we moved some walls and made it happen. Every time we walk in, we say "WOW, look at the lake". Mission accomplished. We are so excited that all electric, gas, plumbing, septic, tank-less hot water, HVAC, insulation, roof, siding, decking and pier are all new. We didn't want to have any maintenance issues. Since we were building this for our 'old age' we attempted to incorporate American Disabilities Act (ADA) standards to the entire house. Entryways, walkways, doorways, handles, light switch and outlet positions. We also incorporated LED lights inside and out for better lighting. From the back door to the end of the deck at the waterfront is wheelchair accessible. We didn't want any restrictions to enjoy the view. As it turns out, we aren't ready for our "old age" home so we would like for you to Relax, Rest and Enjoy!
