Historic Fairytale Cottage with 21stCentury Luxury
Covered with ivy and roses, this historic timber-framed 16th century farmhouse, from the time of Shakespeare in the heart of England, is located in one of the prettiest villages in the Chilterns - just 50 minutes from Central London. This fairytale cottage hides a smart contemporary addition, built in the same style with the same local oak to mirror the craftsmanship of the older house. It features plenty of sofas to relax on, TV, wifi, a glass roofed dining area, and all modern conveniences. Four of the cottage's bedrooms are up spiral staircases and one double bedroom is on the ground floor (it even has its own external door). The open plan kitchen/living area has a range cooker, separate fridge and freezer, and plenty of food prepping area. But if you don't feel like cooking, the village pub is less than 100 yards away serving amazing gastronomy. There is a billiard room with a 6ft pool table and an assortment of board games. Guest access Guests get the run of the entire house and garden. The garden door leads directly on to a wooded path which leads up the hill and into the forest. Parking on the lane is free but be aware that the village is very popular with walkers and parking on the weekend can sometimes be difficult. Please respect our neighbours' drives and do not park in front of their access points. Other things to note Staying in this ancient cottage constructed with 13th century beams and looking out at a beautiful 12th Century Norman church is not just a way to experience history but to connect with nature and the countryside with delightful walks all around, ready and waiting for your wellies.
