Bear Hugs Cottage- Relax in the mountains!

We invite you to Bear Hugs Cottage! Our 4 bedroom 3 bath home is surrounded by nature with easy access to shopping, recreation, and the Tryon International Equestrian Center. Relax quietly on the front porch swing and you may be visited by a family of deer or turkeys. Meditate on the back terrace in the morning or gather around the fire pit to toast marshmallows in the evening. We welcome you to our little slice of heaven.

Bear Hugs Cottage is perfect for two families. It has separate entrances and Mr Coffee and Keurig coffee makers on each level. There is ample parking. We use the finest quality sheets and towels with extra pillows and blankets on each level. There is a rollaway cot and daybed downstairs for additional sleeping.

We welcome our guests to enjoy the peace and quiet of our cottage and property. We can be contacted at anytime by cell, text or email. All information provided upon arrival. Self check-in with keypad.

Love this place like you would your own and please treat it with the utmost respect . There is an 10 person maximum and the responsible party must be 25 or older. No smoking allowed on premises. No pets allowed.

We are located in the lovely foothills at the base of White Oak Mountain which is home to Sunset Rock and Shunkawauken Falls. We are in Polk County, NC. We are close to Hendersonville, Saluda and Tryin, NC. Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) is only 9 miles away. Asheville, NC; Greenville and Spartanburg SC are within easy driving distance

Easy access to I 26 and US 74.

This area is abound with waterfalls, hiking, tubing and kayaking. It has wineries, breweries, antiquing, shopping and wonderful restaurants. This area is rich in art and live music.

Bear Hugs Cottage was 100% perfect for our wedding party's 4 night stay in Columbus, NC. The home exceeds all expectations - more spacious and beautiful than the pictures could show. Perfect location within easy proximity to all the convenience and fun you could wish to have in NC, and nestled off the road for very quiet and peaceful relaxation. More than enough room for easy parking. The hosts were incredibly nice and pleasant to work with. The home was clean, beautiful, and fully equipped with anything you would need or want. Bedrooms were extremely comfortable, and more than enough room to lounge and relax. Our group enjoyed our time there so much, we actually chose to grill out and have dinner at the cabin every night instead of going out! Easy, 20 minute drive to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, 3 nice golf courses, and 10 minutes to Tryon. I have to extend a huge thank you to Lori and Bear Hugs Cottage for playing a pivotal part in making our destination wedding week the happiest, most stress free week of our lives. I would highly recommend this VRBO to anyone looking for a top notch place to complete a vacation!

A great find!

We were coming to the area to visit family and we were so lucky to have found Bear Hugs! It is a real gem! The house was even more spacious than what it showed in the pictures and it very comfortably fit our family of 6 with our two teenage sons getting their own rooms. There were lots of thoughtful touches, a fully equipped kitchen, and everything we needed for our stay. We would definitely stay at Bear Hugs again.

Happy Turkey Time 2018!

Our family spent the Thanksgiving 2018 holiday at Lori’s wonderful home. Our stay could not have been nicer! There were ten family members present, in and out, including my 100-year-old mother who lives nearby in Tryon Estates. We were all comfortable and cozy , with spacious accomodations for everyone. The house was well equipped in every regard and our turkey dinner went smoothly. My mother was delighted to be back in a homey setting!
