The Space:
Enjoy epic ocean and mountain views from this magnificent private double-wide balcony. Complex has direct access to the beach. Take a romantic stroll down Maui's' longest beach directly in front of unit, or sip coffee and eat breakfast while watching whales breach from your private dining table on the balcony. Unit is one of the nicest at this very popular resort. Perfect central location with access to anywhere on the island very quickly.
Central AC is a must in Kihei, and No Neighbors above a plus. Perfect location in complex overlooking the pool/hot tub/BBQ's/Picnic tables, and being out of the direct sun helps keep the unit significantly cooler then others. Choose the right side of Kauhale Makai and be able to keep your blinds open during the day.
High speed WiFi, AC, digital cable, free parking, as well as assorted beach gear.
Sleeps 3 comfortably with King bed and Sofa sleeper couch. Shared laundry facilities on site by elevators on the same floor.

The Neighborhood:
On the desired oceanside of South Kihei rd is Kauhale Makai " village by the sea." The complex which abuts Waipuilani park, an open space which is directly in front of the longest walking beach in Maui. Minutes away from restaurants, grocery stores, Ululani Shaved ice and many of Maui's most desirable beaches. A perfect central location keeps you 20 minutes away from the airport and other Maui hot spots.

Getting Around:
There are plenty of parking spaces at Kauhale Makai. They show as reserved but are open to anyone staying at Kauhale Makai. Parking pass and lobby check in is unnecessary. An automobile while unnecessary, is also suggested for those wanting to site see and enjoy all of Maui. Uber and buses abound and are very convenient for those who want to skip the car rental.

Bed was very hard, linnens felt "cheap", pillows were not great- very lumpy. Some dirty dishes in the cabinet.We liked having the extra space - more than a hotel. AC worked well. Only 2 beach towels - wish there were more. Snorkels provided were broken - missing parts

Second time in Hawaii, first stay in Maui. The condo was in a really nice quiet location with all the amenities you need to feel at home, plus beach access! What more can you ask for. We enjoyed cooking meals and having them on the balcony while enjoying the sunset and ocean views. Would recommend staying here!

Relax in Kehei

We loved our week in Kehei! The condo was a great home base for exploring Maui. Our condo was clean and comfortable. It also had beach chairs, coolers and snorkeling gear for enjoying trips to the beach. The condo has nice views of the pool area and the ocean. Most nights after dinner we took a short stroll over to the beach to look for whales and watch the sunset. We would gladly book this property for future visits.

What a great condo! It had everything a retired teaching couple could want. A really great pool & hot tub. A elevator form my sore back. Nice beach access with multiple beach entrances, up and down the street. Kihei is a very busy road. However, the only thing you could hear from our balcony was soft breezes and bird song. Would stay again in a minute!

Kauhale Makai Ocean front

We were there a month and had a great condo. It was well decorated with all the amenities. During our stay, the refridge died. We contacted VRBO and received a call from the owner almost instantly. He was able to replace the unit quickly. We lost a day of vacation and spoiled food in the process dealing with the cleanup and delivery. The owner refunded our day and lost food cost. Great place. Great views. Great owner.

My 2 adult children and I stayed here for 10 days over Christmas and had a wonderful stay. The property is very well set up with everything you need from a day at the beach, a picnic, short drive to restaurants and grocery stores or just relaxing for the evening. Laundry on every floor, front office very helpful and lots of parking. No complaints whatsoever. Gabriel is always available if needed. Thanks.

This property has it all. There’s not one thing to complain about or want differently. To start communication, you get a series of detailed emails. Very clear and concise information. Parking is easy, free and abundant. The condo is clean and comfortable with all the amenities of home. Amazing view, I could sit on the balcony for hours. It takes seconds to walk to the pool and maybe 2 minutes to walk to the beach. Everyone on the property was nice and respectful, and it’s a pretty large property so that’s impressive how nice and clean and relaxing it stays.

Curtains in both living room and bedroom were off the track. There was a secondary curtain that provide most, but not complete privacy. I asked that it be addressed, but no one came by to fix it. Not a deal breaker, but annoying :-)

Kauhale makai is no ka oi!

6th floor penthouse is a dream! Beautiful, well appointed condo with incredible view. Not many condos are on the beach side in Kihei and this is a gem! Check in easy, free parking included. Wonderful pool area with kiddie pool and hot tub. Loved our visit! We will be back. Aloha!

Maui in December

We arrived a week after Maui was hit with a big storm. Parts of Kihei experienced flooding and mud. As a result, the parking lot had to be vacated for a full day for clean up. Thankfully, the property owner gave us plenty of notice and assisted us with options.

Condo was clean, great view, pricey through vrbo, Would book directly through Maui4life next time to save. There were chairs and scuba gear on the balcony, however they are quite worn out with the salt water, zippers didn’t close, straps missing on chairs. Bed was comfy. They had some random leftover items from others who have stayed there creams etc. But nothing designated for us. Felt a little cluttered. Overall was a nice stay.
