Step straight out into one of England’s finest walking counties, with the Pennine Way and the historic Isaac’s Tea Trail pass close by, winding through open moorland, wooded valleys, and charming upland villages. After a day exploring windswept fells and hidden waterfalls, return to your quiet sanctuary to relax and recharge.
Inside, the accommodation is stylish and comfortable, blending modern touches with a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Watch the sunset from the field hut or share a quiet evening under a canopy of stars, and wake to the sound of birdsong and fresh, clean air. With Hadrian’s Wall just a short drive away and the Lake District within easy reach, this peaceful hideaway is the perfect base for walkers, cyclists, nature lovers, and anyone seeking a truly peaceful escape in the English countryside.
The property is a converted stables, fully insulated with a warm shower room complete with underfloor heating. The main room has a modern kitchen with a fridge/freezer, 2 place induction hob and a microwave oven. There is a sofa, double bed and television. All linen is provided. Store your bikes safely and if out walking use the handy boot room complete with a heated towel rail, boot stand, sink and clothes hooks. Next to the accommodation is a yoga studio where you can experience a private yoga class from an experience British Wheel of Yoga teacher. Further details can be provided on request.
Outside is a heated undercover area to sit and relax or eat. The extensive gardens have open countryside views. There is also a private 2 acre paddock with a hut containing a wood burning stove, tables and chairs, a camping gas stove and a fire-pit.
Every year various migratory birds visit the valley including curlews, wag tails and oyster catchers to name but a few. Watch the many wild rabbits, hares, pheasants, grouse and the occasional deer wonder close by. Marvel at the lack of traffic, breathe the clean air and listen to the sound of nature on your doorstep.
For those wishing to venture further afield, the Northumberland Coast is within easy reach — a stunning stretch of rugged shoreline dotted with golden beaches, ancient castles, and picturesque fishing villages. Explore the dramatic ruins of Dunstanburgh and Bamburgh Castles, walk sections of the Northumberland Coast Path, or cross the tidal causeway to the mystical Holy Island of Lindisfarne.
The nearby historic town of Hexham is a 30 minute drive, boasting a spectacular Abbey, regular farmers market, river walks and some fine restaurants. Visit Alston, England's highest market town or play Alston Moor golf club, the highest golf course in England. Closer by is the Elks Head in Whitfield which offers locally sourced produce and some fine ales. The villages of Allendale and Alston are a short drive away.
