About this property
Kestrel, Tilston: A Charming Retreat
Summary:
Kestrel in Shocklach near Tilston, Cheshire, sleeps four guests in two bedrooms.
The Space:
Kestrel has two double bedrooms (one with limited head height) along with a ground-floor bathroom, an open-plan living space with a kitchen, dining area and sitting area, and a utility. Appliances include an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine and dishwasher, and for entertainment there is a TV and WiFi. Outside, there is off-road parking for two cars and access to the owners’ open field with a pond. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent. Sorry, this is a pet-free, smoke-free, and vape-free property. You can find a shop within 2.5 miles, and a pub within 2.6 miles. One of the double bedrooms has limited head height. There is an unfenced pond on-site, children must be supervised and the owner has dogs on-site, bear in mind when booking. Check-in from 4pm and check-out 10:30am. WiFi speed can be slow in the area. This property is for holidays only and worker bookings are not permitted.
The Neighborhood:
The village of Tilston is situated on the upper reaches of the River Dee, located between the medieval city of Chester and the market town of Whitchurch. Close by is the Carden Park Hotel with a superb 5 star leisure spa and golf course. Chester is just 14 miles away, and this Roman city has quite rightly been described as 'the jewel of the North-West of England'. Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the city is that within a very small area there is evidence of every period of history - from the old walls and amphitheatre of Roman times, through medieval churches, Elizabethan timber-framed town houses and Georgian terraces, to Victorian restorations and 21st century architecture. The City has much to offer the tourist, including excellent shopping in the famous 'Rows', and lovely walks around the old Roman Walls, along The Groves beside the River Dee or through the picturesque Grosvenor Park. Further afield, the stunning Welsh mountains and coastline, and the market towns and villages of Cheshire, Shropshire and Wrexham are all within easy touring distance, whilst the nearby Wirral Peninsula has many splendid courses to tempt the golfing enthusiast.
