RETREAT on the CREEK - Businees Travelor or Weekend Getaway. HISTORIC DISTRICT.
FANTASTIC HOME and an IDEAL LOCATION in the HISTORIC DISTRICT. Beyond the back gate, you can walk 60 easy steps to enter Carroll Creek and get to any of the great Restaurants, Pubs, Antiques Shops, History Museums, The Library, Theater etc!
Come stay at this LARGE 3BR 2BA row home and enjoy all that Downtown Frederick has to offer from this Central location. Take advantage of one of the great Festivals or Events in Frederick County, or right in Downtown Frederick on the Creek. Great for the business traveler, or for a weekend getaway! Cable and WIFI. 2 Parking spaces directly behind the house.
Our home was built in 1860 and has original wood floors throughout, a formal living and dining room on the main level, and a fully usable kitchen. The washer and dryer are off the kitchen if needed. There is a full bath on the main level, and full bath on the upper level. Upstairs you have 3 good sized bedrooms and one of the rooms has bunkbeds. The back room has a private balcony overlooking the patio which is nice (see pics).
Listen to any of the Alive at Five events right off the balcony, or in the backyard.
One of my favorite features is the backyard area which is fully fenced and has a large patio. This is a great area to sit and relax and enjoy Downtown Living. The backyard area feels more of like an enclave type setting which backs towards Carroll Creek and Downtown Frederick.
From this location you can walk 1 block North to “Serenity” which recently opened, and is a downtown Grocery Store/Deli…if you need anything during your stay.
This is also a great area to bring your bike, or take a long walk and explore Downtown Frederick, Baker Park, Shab Row, etc! One block East of this property is the Frederick Visitation Center and they have plenty of literature and information on all the events going on throughout Downtown Frederick throughout the year or visit their site
Come check us out, you will not be disappointed!

Ideal location in the heart of Frederick - walkable to the many restaurants, bars & shops. House has a lovely historic charm with lots of fun local decor — and the 2 parking spots are a plus!
Great location — right on the Carroll Creek Walk and a stone’s throw from excellent restaurants and nice shops.

Liked: Check-in
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
The front and back bedrooms had wasps. The owner did send pest control to the property right away, but the problem couldn’t be resolved. We had to leave and he refused to refund our money. Overall, it’s an old property that has been renovated but despite paint and cute furnishings, it still feels old and dirty. The window screens are all ripped and there are dead bugs in between them. It’s disgusting.

Response from VrboOwner on 6 Apr, 2026
We were surprised by your review, as it does not reflect the communication during your stay.
At check-in, you shared: “Thanks so much!! The place is cute and in a great location!”
When you later reported a bee/wasp entering the home, we responded immediately by sending a licensed pest professional out to our home and the issue was addressed.
You then confirmed, “We’ll be just fine.”
It was not until day 2.5 of your 3 night stay that you requested a full refund, which we respectfully declined.
Following that decision, we received additional messages and then a bad review.
Yout concerns about cleanliness and being dirty were not raised at any point during your stay. I personally inspected the property right before your arrival and everything was fine.
Yes its an old property built in 1861...very similar to evey home in DT Frederick.
Cleanliness is a top priority for us, and we have maintained a strong track record of positive reviews in this area since hosting on VRBO in 2017. We have never had a single bad review on cleanliness...nor did you report one upon you arrival..or the day after
(I think we can all see where this was going)
We always strive to respond promptly and resolve any issues for our guests, and we believe our actions during your stay reflect that commitment.
Interesting to then see you then cancel you CC transaction with VRBO to us. SMH
Perfect location and close to everything. Was great that we had 2 designated parking spaces behind the home. Aaron the host was great to communicate with and offered up some good recommendations for the area.
The location was great for our quick stay. We enjoyed walking to a nearby restaurant for dinner. I especially like all the fun decorations throughout the house. Thank you for hosing!
House backs up to the creek walk making walking to many destinations very easy. It was cool learning the history of the house. The 2 parking spaces were a huge help. Would stay again!
The house was quaint and so close to everything. My family and I had a great stay. There were a few things that were missing, but we really enjoyed our stay.
Check-in was smooth and easy. Everything was clean. We had an issue with the wifi but the host responded quickly and resolved the problem. The location is excellent, within walking distance to lots of restaurants and breweries. Twin Bears Bakery should not be missed. The parking in the back was very appreciated. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. We certainly will stay there again.
My family of five adults and one newborn were in town for a couple of nights for a wedding. It was conveniently located and great to have two coveted parking spots! The first morning I took our family dog Luna, a miniature dachshund for a walk along Caroll Creek, which was lovely. We even walked to where my sister-in-law was staying on Clarke Place. We found everything that we needed including a lovely patio area for breakfast. It was convenient to do a load of wash as newborns can be a little messy. When we arrived, everything was clean and tidy. There was even a beautiful bouquet of red roses on the dining room table that made us feel even more welcome.
We loved the historic home and its proximity to Carroll Creek and shopping! We were in town for a wedding and were able to walk everywhere we needed to go.
The house worked out very well for our stay. The location was perfect to Market Street and all the shops.

I am born and raised in Frederick MD and my family has deep roots dating back to the mid 1700's in this area. As a REALTOR, I enjoy showing and selling all that Downtown Frederick has to offer. Frederick has so much to offer and I would love to share with you if needed. I am very accessible for any questions and/or recommendations you may have. My granddad was born on East All Saints Street so I have a little bit more passion for this home and area.
