Rathfriland, a charming town nestled in the Mourne Mountains in County Down, is located in the southern half of Northern Ireland. There are several takeaways, two shops, a few cafes, and a few pubs scattered throughout the village, making it a great place to go if you need to stock up on supplies. There are numerous reasons why the Mournes have been named "Northern Ireland's Favorite Walking Destination" in 2017 and 2018, so pack your hiking boots when you visit this area. Some of the mountain range's trails can be challenging, but they reward you with breathtaking views of valleys and rivers that will take your breath away.With its own cathedral, Slieve Gullion Forest Park and a museum dedicated to its local history, Newry is known as the gateway to the north, and it's just a short drive from Rathfriland.
