This is a beautiful apartment in a great location in a beautiful city. That said, being that the street is full of restaurants and cider houses, it is also noisy. Noisy for most of the night. And sleep was only achieved by closing the windows and earplugs. But closing windows means blocking out the air, and as the apartment has no A/C the apartment gets very warm quite quickly. So be warned.
Also, the entry to the apartment was a process. We had to get a cab to one part of town to collect the keys from a woman next to a mechanics shop then go across town to the apartment. If my wife was not a Spanish speaker I have no idea how we would have dealt with this. Once we arrived in Oviedo, R2R passed me off to a local agent and if communication was thin to that point, it pretty much ended after that. And what messages they sent were in Spanish even though I asked that they communicate in English.
There isn’t one printed direction or manual for any appliance and I had to look up basic functions of the washing machine, stove, and dishwasher by searching the product on Google. How hard would it be to provide printed directions?
That all said, Oviedo is a superb city. It has a beautiful old center and Central Park. It has great theaters and many other attractions and is absolutely worth a visit. The climate is very refreshing, especially after being in Madrid for a week.
