Gorgeous house, in the jungle by the sea.
Our living room with big couches to lounge relaxing on while watching the birds, sloths and monkeys in the trees. Three private spacious ensuite bedroom casitas with private bathrooms and shower, fan, lock on the door, and screened windows. Casita Amor has a King bed. Jungla and Serena Casitas have queen beds. Artisan stone tiles on all of the floors and handcrafted woodwork throughout. The kitchen is equipped with, stove, refrigerator and cooking basics. The dining area is part of the kitchen area and open to the captivating gardens. We have a path to the little stream running across the back of the property with a small fresh waterfall and natural pool nearby. Our home is located in Playa Chiquita (5km south of Puerto Viejo) in a quiet serene, safe neighborhood a short walking distance to beaches and restaurants.
More info: We (or a close friend) live on the property in the house next door most of the year. We are available to answer any questions you may have. If we are not here to greet you our friend will be.
Great beaches and restaurants are an easy walk from our house. House is surrounded by gardens and tropical trees. We are located in the small town of Playa Chiquita. 5 km to Puerto Viejo. 350 mts to the Chiquita beach. 300 mts to a excellent grocery stores and several wonderful restaurants and bars. Paths behind the house for hiking. Some of the activities in our area: cycling, swimming, snorkeling, diving, horseback riding, kayaking, zip-line, rafting tours, chocolate tours, massage, healing spas, walks in nature reserves.
The main coastal road is generally flat and well-paved and biking is a typical method of transport. Bikes are available for rent at the nearby grocery store. A public bus traveling from Puerto Viejo to Manzanillo (and vice versa) passes every few hours on the main road 300 meters from the house. Cahuita National Park is also accessible by bus. About the host
Hosted by Margot Mellett
We are originally from Vermont in the USA.We came to Puerto Viejo 9 years ago and fell in love with the area. Kurtis is a Builder and I am a web designer. We (or our good friend) live in the house next door - so we can be available to greet you and answers any questions you may have.
Why they chose this property
Our home is gorgeous! Private and in a quiet safe nieghborhood surrounded by nature! In the jungle by the sea! But close walking distance to restaurants, beaches, and available tours.
What makes this property unique
We are at the end of the driveway creating a private garden oasis. Also, there is a stream running along the back of the property with a small waterfall and natural pool. Our house floor plan is unique. The bedroom ensuite casitas surround the central living room area. The house is gated, gorgeous, private, and immersed in nature. The Artisan Tile center piece of our house on the floor of our Living room/porch is a handcrafted tiled compass rose, sometimes called a windrose, or Rose of the Winds. This is a figure on a compass, map, nautical chart, or monument used to display the orientation of the cardinal directions: North, East, South, and West—and their intermediate points. This is why we call our home Compass Rose. Welcome!
