About this property
Sunny Loreto Bay Villa; steps to beach & pool; golf, kayak, snorkel, explore
Whether you’re looking to dry out and warm up by spending time poolside with a good book and a refreshing margarita, or the thought of world-class sport fishing and canyon hiking gets your adrenaline pumping, the location of this bright, sunny, beachside villa – 90 steps from the beach and 45 steps from the lap pool – with relax-inspiring, 360-degree views of the Sierra de la Giganta mountains and Sea of Cortez, is the perfect retreat for those with every interest in between. Glad to share trip planning ideas as well as how to stretch your dollars on things like car rental. Direct flights from the US West Coast via Alaska and American Airlines or from Calgary via WestJet make getting to Loreto Bay easy since the airport (LTO) is 10 minutes away.
This two-bedroom villa is completely furnished with modern conveniences and appliances, including 3 TV’s with satellite service and wifi, all included in your stay. Use the two bikes to explore the community, or borrow the beach/ pool toys and equipment at your leisure. Lounge in the tropical garden setting of the back patio – complete with outdoor shower – while you watch hummingbirds zip around the bougainvillea and listen to the back courtyard fountain or Sea of Cortez, just steps away. Grill the day’s catch on the terrace grill, and feel free to use the washer/ dryer as needed. Our property manager is well known in the community for always being very responsive to our guests’ needs, and she is well-equipped to address any questions or concerns during your stay.
At Casa Colibrí (hummingbird), your day might start with fresh-squeezed orange juice on the 3rd level (viewing tower, or mirador en español) while you watch the sun emerge over the water, then maybe a leisurely stroll along the beach or along the brightly-colored, desert-landscaped callejones (alleys) and placitas, followed by a frothy cappuccino at the aptly-named La Sirena Baja Café, a couple blocks away.
Do you enjoy golf? We have it here. How about pickle-ball (or tennis)? That too. Maybe paddle-boarding, kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, diving, whale (or bird) watching, star-gazing, horseback riding, hiking, biking, or ATV’ing? All of the above. Or perhaps the old-world charm, history, and authentic Mexican flavor of Loreto’s restaurants, shops, and colonial Mission draw you to experience the true, laid-back Baja lifestyle? What you won’t find in this fishing-village-turned-hidden-gem anchoring the Loreto Bay National Marine Park is traffic, noise, or belligerent spring-break-ers stumbling home after an all-nighter at the club. The Villages of Loreto Bay is an oasis for those looking to unwind, re-energize, and soak up the sun, a place for vacationers, retirees, families with children of all ages, loungers, adventurers, tri-athletes, or those wishing to do nothing more than read a good book, sip a tasty margarita, sprawl out next to the pool, and maybe practice speaking Spanish with one of our 24/7/365 security team.
Numerous restaurants, shops, spas, two grocery marts, and a bar/ gallery line our main thoroughfare, all within walking distance. At the Loreto Bay Golf and Spa Resort, you have even more options, including their beach-front restaurant and swim-up bar, pool/ hot tub, spa, and exercise room (requiring a modest fee), all accessible to our guests.
The theme of Loreto Bay is “Live Fully. Tread lightly.” We hope you decide to book your stay at Casa Colibrí and experience all the natural beauty this Baja jewel has to offer.

Very comfortable property in great location. All the amenities needed are either provided or a few steps away at the local stores and restaurants. The host sends lots of great information ahead of time. Loreto Bay is a charming community and everyone was so friendly. Really enjoyed our stay.

Thank you, Julia, for your wonderful review. We're so glad you had such a good time at our place, and you're welcome to return anytime!
This home was better than described. Great location with wonderful views of mountains and Sea of Cortez. The unit was nicely appointed and made for easy preparation of our meals. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Casa Colibrí is a beautiful home with all the amenities. Loreto Bay is a lovely walkable community. Craig is a very responsive host. We would definitely visit again.
This beautiful home is located in a very large development with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The home is very nicely furnished, the owner is very responsive and easy to work with and the location is just a short drive from Loreto. If you like golfing, swimming, and dining out, this would be a great place for you.
Condo is in a large complex in Loreto Bay of a great community. Grounds were lovely, had many restaurants and activities to do and close to the beach. Pickleball courts nearby with many friendly ex-pats.
Condo was large with two amazing balconies, very nicely appointed furniture and the beds were comfy and the bedding yummy.
Casa was very nice - one of the best we have stayed in over the last 8 trips to Loreto Bay. Everything worked and all doors and windows worked !!!,We mainly ate out so did not use the BBQ or Oven but both were spotless. The two bikes were also a bonus.

Thank you, Mal, for your positive comments, and we're so glad you enjoyed your stay in Casa Colibrí. You're welcome to return anytime!
Our place was exactly as described…we enjoyed AM coffee with a nice view from the upper deck. Evening meals near the bbq on the middle deck. And the fully equipped and well stocked kitchen provided everything we needed and more. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms in great shape. Everything was perfect. Communications with onsite property management was excellent…the owner Craig cares about his property and his guests. We will come back and rent Casa Calibri again. Loreto is a Pueblo Magico!!

Lovely digs
We arrived and found everything in order and very stylish. Our only issue was the upstairs A/C
which took time to turn on and then we weren't able to turn off. We only made coffee, but the kitchen is completely equipped.
Everything else was perfect, the unit location is close to the pool, beach, restaurants.
I'd recommend the place to anyone.

Thank you for the feedback, and I'm sorry that you had trouble with the upstairs AC unit. I've put in a request to have the unit inspected immediately to avoid further issues with it. You're welcome back to Casa Colibrí anytime!
Villa was large and well equipped. It was cold while we were there and we couldn't figure out how to turn up the heat. Villa would not work for people that can't do stairs. Restaurants pretty limited in Loreto Bay and taxi ride into town was almost $25. The villa is close to the bay and very quite. The grounds are beautiful as well as the two pools.
Overall, this visit exceeded expectations. The unit was nicely designed and well built. The neighborhood was very cozy. We visited the nearby town of Loretto a few times, and a nearby church. No negatives of any consequence, just a few quirks. Fun trip, though not sure it's an experience I'd repeat. Too much of an American/English bubble for me.
The Loreto Bay condo development is a community unto itself, with hundreds of very nice Mexican/Baja influenced condos built in similar fashion arranged around passages and corridors. Ours had a main level with two courtyards, a second floor with a spacious patio and bedroom suite, and third floor tower open to the surrounding views of the bay and the rugged peaks of the Sierra Gigante. In all ways - design, decor and furnishings, convenience, peace and privacy, Casa Colobri was about perfect. Yards from the lap pool, a few blocks from galleries and eateries, and the beach and Nopoli Rock just beyond the grounds. After a great day in Loreto it was still a treat to come back to the Casa and relax.
Great visit in the off season! Beautiful Property.
The property and amenities are fantastic. We visited in October in the off season and were outnumbered by the maintenance staff (who keep the grounds in impeccably clean condition). The beach is beautiful, the water warm. Casa Calibri where we stayed was well cared for, in a good location and well appointed. The biggest problem we had was finding the Casa at night. Directions had us looking for the big Napolo flower sculpture which is not lit up at night. I suggest going in the second entrance rather than the first after marker 111. The area where the Casa is located is easier to find from there. Once I found security, they helped us find the Casa, very nice and helpful!
We really enjoyed the Casita Colibir and all of the amenities of Nopolo. The bedding was high quality as were the mattresses. The property manager addressed a few issues promptly. We did rent a car, but for a future stay, we would use a taxi service to Loreto. We found that the numerous mini markets of Nopolo had everything we needed for grocery shopping and quite a few dining options that were all excellent. We loved the little library and La Cholla Market especially. We both enjoyed excellent full therapeutic massages at the little boutique and the lap swimming pool was stunning and kept pristine. Such lovely tile work! The entire community is very well maintained and has lush foliage that was beautiful. We highly recommend for a quiet and peaceful getaway. Thank you Craig for this great first time Baja experience. Laura

Great Location and well-appointed Villa
This is our third time to Loreto. We come primarily to golf and enjoy the many attractions the area has to offer. We always travel with our aging parents so “location” is important to us. Craig’s Villa is perfect in that regard. It is within easy walking distance to nearly everything. We walk to the golf course, our favorite coffee shop, the grocery store and the restaurants. We are right beside a lap pool and close to the ocean. We enjoy an afternoon walk along the ocean as the sunsets. The villa itself is perfect for four people. My parents had the lower floor with the big master bedroom, double sinks and king size bed. We had the upper floor with another large bathroom, double sinks and a queen size bed. The upper floor also has a patio where you can sit out and enjoy a morning coffee or evening sunset. The villa was equipped with all the amenities. There were many towels, bath accessories and the kitchen had everything we needed! There is even an outdoor shower to use before entering the house after using the pool or beach.
There is also an open courtyard with a water fountain which added to the ambiance and made the place quaint and bright.
Craig’s response rate was always immediate with answers to all of our questions. We corresponded via email or phone. I would also recommend booking this place well in advance as Craig is a fairly new VRBO owner and we would not be surprised to see this Villa in high demand.
Craig was a pleasure to deal with and we look forward to (hopefully) returning again next year.

Thank you so much for your gracious compliments! We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at our casa and would love to have you return anytime.
Kind regards, Craig
We really loved this neighborhood in Nopolo. It had everything we needed including restaurants, markets, boutiques and spas. The location if this house was great. We stayed with our children for a family reunion. Everyone rented houses in this neighborhood and we were all super close to each other. My sister rented the unit next door (538), ours was 539. The terrace is beautiful with a distant and limited ocean view. The only issue was the wifi which had to get rebooted and never worked upstairs. Also the host forgot to send us check in instructions but his wife answered the phone immediately and was able to help us get into the property.
This property was just what we were all hoping for. Craig was very communicative during our visit and the Manager for the property in Mexico was very friendly and helpful. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook nice meals. The grounds are emaculate, pools are lovely. Couldn't have been a better vacation.
We are a family of four from Vancouver, WA, who love to travel, explore, learn, and eat together.
Why they chose this property
We have traveled extensively throughout Mexico over the years, including: the Copper Canyon, Tulum, Guanajuato, Tequila, Sanalona, Guadalajara, Morelia, and all over Baja, among many other places. When we "discovered" Loreto and all it has to offer a few years ago, we decided it's the best place for our family to share in the wonders of the Mexican culture and the warmth of its people, and for our kids to practice their espanol. And now we share it with you!
What makes this property unique
Once we saw Casa Colibri's views, I believe we were sold! Vistas of the Sea of Cortez to the east and the Sierra de la Giganta mountains to the west are truly postcard-worthy. Having a spacious, verdant backyard patio with hummingbirds zipping about also drew us in immediately. Loreto Bay's desert-landscaped walkways, courtyards and hidden fountains made us want to get lost in the maze of narrow, colorful callejones. Not to mention the location of the villa: we are beachside and midway between the Paseo and the lap pool, so everything is virtually a few steps away, whether a morning caffeine fix at El Corazon Cafe, a refreshing dip in the pool, or a relaxing stroll along the beach.
