Stunning views, a nice relaxing getaway.

What a lovely week we had at Kilbride lodge, all mod cons and very comfortable. Although it might be a tight squeeze for four adults though. The view and the peace and quiet was amazing, well worth the single track journey from the main road. The boat shack is a great place for breakfast or lunch, what a find! And thanks to the wonderful housekeeper Nicky, easy to contact with any queries and always a quick reply.

6/10 Okay

Good location. Outwith summer months the place can have an eerie atmosphere

As seasoned well travelled Scottish travellers we were aware of the surrounding location. We also have holidayed in many modern chalets and lodges. This lodge lounge provided basic facilities with a 2 seater sofa and tiny tv. A dining table is worn around the edges and with chairs. No microwave and a hot water tap in place of a kettle. Modern kitchen. Bedrooms had double beds. The lodge lacks colour and softness. No magazines, books or any literature. No visitors comments book. And no childrens toys if required. The decking is superb but weather permitting. A log burner would bring a glow to the place. Great loch goil views. The noted task in hand grounds appear a falls risk. Large unfenced off exposed deep drainage trenches around the perimeter. The lodge is not suitable for disabled people and not child friendly. Due to incomplete grounds the rental charge should be reduced and it should be noted that we had to step over discarded tissues to get to our car. The lodge is ideal for outdoor types.
