This period cottage is set next to the picture-postcard stream in the medieval village of Lavenham, with its preserved medieval buildings and quaint, narrow streets. The village has a thriving community, and you’ll find many independent shops, cafes, and restaurants. Spend time pottering amongst the historic buildings in the village and exploring the local footpaths. Set in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, there are many tracks and trails to explore through the surrounding woodlands and fields. Just 12.5 miles away is Bury St Edmunds, with its fantastic restaurants, beautiful abbey gardens, and stunning cathedral. Sleeping two guests, this property makes a great base for couples seeking to explore Suffolk.
Byes Barn is full of rustic charm forming half of a 17th-century grain barn, with an exposed timber frame and mullion windows. The downstairs of this unique property is deceptively spacious and offers two guests plenty of room to enjoy. As you step inside this characterful home, you are welcomed into the dining hall where you can sit and enjoy a morning coffee overlooking the stream. The kitchen is fully stocked with plenty of cooking equipment and crockery, incorporating a dining area to one end. Lying between the kitchen and hall is a lovely cosy sitting room. Upstairs, you will find a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room as well as a separate bathroom. The landing space has a desk that is ideal for remote working. Please note there is restricted head height (maximum 6’) on the first floor due to the age of the property.
Whilst there is no private outdoor space, Byes Barn is well situated for exploring the local area thanks to multiple footpaths in very close proximity.
