Beautiful and Cozy Grand Lake House on Monkey Island

Come and enjoy the beautiful lake view from our large deck or second level deck off the master that is just steps away from your own boat dock with swim deck. This house is located on a large wake free cove next to Port Duncan. This is a 1800 sq ft two story, newly renovated and perfectly equipped and furnished a-frame house with 4 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, 2 living areas, and a beautiful kitchen. There are beds to sleep 8 adults, with room for kiddos on the couch or toddler bed. A perfect get away or summer vacation spot. Monkey Island is 2.5 hrs from OKC, 1hr from Tulsa, and 3 hrs from Kansas City. 20 minute drive to Grove. This house is close to everything Grand Lake has to offer, including Sangri-la, golf course, and great restaurants. The house is located close to a few Marina that can rent you boats or jet skis and dock at the house. The dock will have 1 boat slip and 1 jet ski spot for the renters.

A Grand stay

The house was very nice inside with updated kit. And bath rooms and the king sized beds were comfortable. The large deck was the main hangout And The boat dock was used for our boat, fishing and swimming. A great VRBO for families.

Summer Fun!

Perfect lake home for our family and friends. Plenty of room for everyone and having the boat dock right in front of the house was great. Bonus, was having the boat ramp right next to the property so once we arrived we were ready to start our vacation!

Megan and Kevin were very nice and the house was clean and comfortable. The boat dock also nice. The TV did not work and you needed streaming in order to watch. So this needs to be clarified prior to coming. The grounds need work plants were over grown and some dead. The deck was nice but needed some work, as well. Spiders by the dozens, but it is a lake house so expected. A broom works great to knock them down. The view was well worth it and water was perfect.

Great place in a great spot!

The location on the lake was excellent (in a no wake cove but extremely close to main lake) and the layout worked very well for our family’s needs. There are 2 beds + loft/1 bath up and 2 beds/1 bath down so it was convenient for my elderly parents not to have to go up stairs. The bathrooms and kitchen were nicely remodeled and the furnishings are comfortable and charming.

Perfect location!

Beautiful lake home! Right on the water and beautifully decorated! The only issues we had were a ton of spiders on the deck in the mornings but with it being so close to the water and surrounded by trees not sure how to fix that. And the driving 5 miles to take out the trash was a pain but worth it. Thank you for a wonderful stay! We will be back next summer!

Perfect!

House was clean and the lake access is great! Ceilings on main floor are a bit low, so if you are over 6’5” or so, might bump your head. There are neighbors, but we never saw them and the whole area was wonderfully quiet. The deck box down on the dock had more pool noodles than a Walmart on Memorial Day weekend! Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful and Peaceful Family Retreat!

Everything about this rental was perfect for us. We loved the convenience of having the private boat ramp, slip and dock at the property. The house was decorated so beautifully but very comfortable at the same time. The view out of the back of the house and off the deck was stunning!!!! The communication with the owner was top notch. Location was perfect. 5 stars all the way! I miss it already. We will rent again!

Waterfront Property...Literally

Thanks to mother nature we were able to enjoy the water right off the deck. The house was very nice and the owner responded quickly to all our questions. Make sure you read info on arrival and getting into the house...it requires use of an app on your phone. The kids enjoyed using the kayaks to get out to the dock. The boat ramp next to the house is really convenient if you need to put your boat in the water, but parking could be difficult with a trailer. I highly recommend this place for a great time at the lake.

The house was great. We came after a storm and the water was up to the deck with debris everywhere. Owner does not have anything at the house to clean it up. We used our kayak paddles to clean it up, as there were snakes and we wanted to be able to see where we were walking to get to the pier. We know the storm and debris was out of their control, but rakes or something would have been nice to have. Had trouble with the washing machine. Reached out to seller and they were aware, but gave us no warning. Finally got it to work on the last day. Overall, great house with 2 little issues. We had a great time.

Great house and dock

My family and I enjoyed our time at this house. Good things: The house is decorated nicely, the air conditioner worked well, the kitchen is well stocked, the dock was good for fishing and sunning, the neighborhood was quiet and settled. Not so great: our check-in was rough - I'd recommend getting the property manager's cell phone before traveling to the house, VRBO wasn't working for me while we were traveling and poor cell service didn't help. We didn't get our entry code until 30 minutes after we arrived at the house. We could only contact the prop mgr through VRBO which wasn't responding. I'd also recommend bringing some folding chairs for the deck and dock. Otherwise this house was great for my family.

Monkey Island Lake Home

We had an amazing stay at this home on Grand Lake in Oklahoma. The check-in process was easy and the house was ready on time. The house is located right on the water and the dock is amazing! We hung out at the dock and in the water most of the time. The ceiling on the first floor seemed very short when we first got there, but you get used to it. The bedrooms were awesome, but the upstairs bedrooms were "squeaky" if you were downstairs. It wasn't anything major, but if you have people that stay up later put them on the first floor so that they aren't waking up others. The bug repellent system wasn't working which was a disappointment, but we bought a bug zapper that we put on the back deck and I sprayed bug spray in the front and back on the first day and that seemed to keep them mostly at bay. The house has a lovely amount of shade versus sun all day long because of how everything is set up. It would have been nice to have SUP or kayaks to use, but we brought our own floats and boat to use throughout the trip. Overall, this is a great house and we would definitely stay in this house again!

Great house!

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The house was nice and clean. The property owner was able to answer all of our questions in a timely manner, before and during our stay. We LOVED the location of the house. It was quiet (we stayed Sun-Wed) and the kids enjoyed jumping off the dock.

Perfect little getaway!

My family of 4 and my in-laws stayed the week and it was exactly as listed! I was pleasantly surprised because it was actually nicer then the pictures. Very peaceful neighborhood and close to stores and restaurants, we rented a pontoon and did a guided fishing trip which was local as well. 10/10 would recommend

Happy Wife Happy Life

Layout of house is great. Lots of stairs outside of which we were fine with. Kitchen had everything needed. Loved the 2 living areas. The TV downstairs was never turned on which made me happy. Ceilings are low downstairs & we have tall people but would still rent it again EXCEPT it was advertised w/ a boat slip with lift which was the main reason we choose this property. Then we were told after arriving renters can't use the lift so unfortunately we never got to put our boat in the water. The boat is just too big to pull in & out daily. The owner refunded us one night stay. I'm sure they will remove that from the description. There was another slip w/ no lift that our son used to keep his bass boat in. I'll check soon. The closets were good size. No easy access to a convenience outlet on one side of the master bed so a long charging cord might be a good idea to bring. The way the house faces there is no direct sunlight on either of the back decks which will make this a great rental during hotter months. We loved having the washer & dryer. There isn't much room for groceries for a family of 5 for a week but we made it work. There is a convenience store close that sells fresh produce & fresh meat.

Great Time on Grand Lake of the Cherokees

All went well for an old geezer! Place was great, price was good, and I really appreciated being able to talk to the owner. Still a little old school when it comes to communication. A smart phone is still a phone and I’m not the best typist!

Family Fun

Quiet location, close to boat rentals and off lake amenities. Lake House was well furnished....just need a swimsuit and food, and then enjoyed the lake fun!
