About this property

River Serenity managed by Cabin Butler

Sitting on the east bank of the Little Colorado River, this cabin is relatively secluded and features a double deck with a gas BBQ grill and seating overlooking the river and Ponderosa pines—an excellent outlook for watching wildlife.

The interior is mountain luxury at its finest, anchored by a large family room with a gas fireplace and a sitting area comprised of two sofas, a 46″ HDTV with DIRECTV® and a Blu-ray DVD player.

The full kitchen is equipped for basic cooking and baking, and features plenty of counter space, a microwave, and a dishwasher. A washing machine and dryer are located in the hall laundry room.

There are two master suites in this spacious dream cabin! The upstairs 'family' suite is perfect for a family with small children and features a king bed, two twin beds, gas fireplace, sitting area, and an incredible vaulted ceiling with a wall of windows facing west over the river and Ponderosa pines. You might feel like you're sleeping in a sumptuous tree house. But that's not all. The luxuriously appointed en suite bathroom will make you feel as if you have your own personal spa with a large walk-in shower and an elegant claw foot soaking tub.

The second master suite is located on the main level and features a king bed, gas fireplace, a sitting area, and its own private deck surrounded by towering pines. In the private en suite bathroom you'll find a shower over jetted tub combination.

The three other bedrooms each have a queen bed and share a full hall bath (shower over tub combo).

Cabin amenities include: DIRECTV®, free Wi-Fi access, gas BBQ grill and access to the 4-acre private grounds for fishing in the river, wildlife and bird watching, outdoor bon fires (3 fire rings), a game of horseshoes, or just relaxing with a camera and a book. Located on property is multiple outdoor firepits. A free fire permit will be needed from local fire department and wood is purchasable during business hours at our office.

Spring Break 2021

Great getaway out of the valley. Tranquil town and location. House had plenty of room and kitchen was stocked with everything you needed, just bring food and clothes. House needs a few updates but overall an excellent experience.

Great home but there's things to work on

I recently rented this property with my boyfriend, mother, father, brother, sister in law and 5 children ranging in age from 6 to 20. The home itself was beautiful, the size was perfect 5 bedrooms (2 masters) with a den/nook that had 2 beds. The location was wonderful, just off of the little Colorado River, there was outside seating so we could just enjoy it all. After arrival and settling in we noticed there was rodent droppings inside the "nook bedroom" behind a dressing, there was a rodent trap inside the upstairs master bedroom. The upstairs master bathroom was also leaking water that we only realized when we were downstairs and saw the water coming out of a light fixture. The downstairs master bedroom had a heater that was not working but there was a portable heater that sat on the bedside table. The bathroom downstairs has a heater that did not work. Also in the downstairs bathroom l there was a full bottle of water that was held onto the drain with a rubber band to keep the drain open to allow it to drain. The water never got any more than luke warm in the downstairs bathroom. The kitchen didn't seem to be as fully stocked with utensils as other homes we have rented. And all of the beds seem to be slightly older as they were not very comfortable to sleep in. I did reach out to the rental company by email on the second day of out stay as they emailed me to see how everything was. I expressed my concern with the item above (minus the beds and utensils as those are just things i noticed and of no great concern unlike the rodent droppings) and never heard back.

Very Disappointing

The property is aesthetically pleasing. It is right on the water with great views. That is about it. There were many issues with this property. First, we were given two different directions which caused us to have to pack up and leave one location for the other at 10:30 at night. When we found the right location “The amenities are what you could expect from a motel 6” from one our family members that traveled out of state said. The couches are broken. One you sank to the floor and the other had tears and rips in it. The other furniture has stains everywhere. The pillows were flat to the point when you laid your head down you sank to the bed. The sheets and comforters were dirty. Downstairs bathroom- door doesn’t lock, Fan does not work, shower curtain stained, leaky faucet and no hand towels or wash clothes. The lights over the stairs going to the top floor did not work. The stopper for the upstairs tube isn’t the one for that tube thus doesn’t work. The walls all over are dirty and scuffed, the carpet is old and coming up. The dishwasher makes noise but doesn’t clean the dishes so wash them before you put them in. Speaking of dishes, bring mixing bowls with you. There was no dish soap, laundry detergent and not enough trash bags for our stay. We had ended up bringing these items in case of an emergency and glad we did. There was no broom or vacuum cleaner that we found. The biggest issue was mice! Mice everywhere. They got into our food and had droppings everywhere. My mom had one crawl on her. Another guest had one run over their foot while using the restroom. I don’t see an option for pictures but will be sending to VRBO. Just looking at them makes me angry. If I can have the other guests post, I will try to see if they can. Working with VRBO on this as the management company won’t work with us anymore.

Can beat the views.

We love this cabin, it was spacious. There is a lot of outdoor seating to enjoy the beautiful creek and pine trees. Leah at the cabin Butler was very helpful and friendly we will rent from them again. We were lucky to enjoy a herd of deer in the backyard. Can’t beat it.

Perfect family cabin

The cabin is absolutely beautiful and has plenty of room, especially for a family getaway! Nestled in the middle of pines with the soothing sound of the river flowing within 100 feet of the back porch makes this a perfect place to escape into a winter wonderland. The upstairs large king suite is perfect for a family since it has a cozy adjoining room with two twin beds great for children.

Amazing Place to relax

The place is in an amazing setting in the cool pines. A great place to stay. i would have given it 5 stars but the main shower leaked from upstairs down to the lower level through the ceiling. there were also many light bulbs burned out in the light fixtures, internet extremely slow and other parts of the cabin needing repairs.

Beautiful log cabin in picturesque setting by the stream among the pines.

The cabin needs some maintenance (light bulbs, handle on kitchen sliding door, 2 couches with springs that sink to the floor). But, plenty of room for several families and dogs are accepted. Peaceful and usually quiet except when there were large groups in the homes across the stream.

Great Location, Cleanliness a problem

The property is in an awesome location, a feeling of seclusion because the creek running so close by, didn't really notice others in the other cabins. We loved the area and the cabin itself but the cleanliness was a problem. The floors are filthy, my daughter went barefoot in the living room and ended up with black feet. White socks got black as well. a little water spilled on the floor and while cleaning it up, the rag became black. I do believe they need to do a major scrubbing on the floors and also shampoo what little carpet is there. The couches should have been thrown away a few years ago, when you sit on them you go down practically to the floor. Most uncomfortable and hurts the back to sit in them. For the money we paid per night I would expect better. For the summer when the rates are so high, I would not be happy. I will say, we had to call for help twice, the first time because there was a mouse in the garbage disposal...took a couple hours before the guy got there, but he was very nice. Another mouse was found dead in the water bowl for our dog the next morning. There were mouse droppings on the window sills in several rooms. So make sure you bring disinfectant for wash the counters down before putting food on them. Another night I noticed there was water coming from under the kitchen sink. A tube had cracked where it hooked to the garbage disposal, we called the next morning because we couldn't wash anything and they came Sunday morning quite quickly and the problem was fixed soon. I tried to call to speak to someone about our concerns a week after our stay instead of leaving feedback here, but was told to call back later, then when I did I was told someone would have to call me back, but then after taking down all my information, they told me to call back. I am very busy and never had a chance to call back again, so hopefully you will get the message to fix the problems. During this Virus time I would have thought there would have been an extra effort to make sure things were clean. Other than cleanliness, we loved the cabin and location!!!
