About this property
Azalea Falls Lodge - Upper Buffalo River Ozark Getaway
"Luxury in the woods is not a far-fetched notion here. It's a way of life." Southern Living Magazine, November 2004.
Staying at Azalea Falls Lodge is "like staying in a wonderful treehouse" that "overlooks an enchanted hollow". Two beautiful but seasonal waterfalls have carved out this hollow over the ages. leaving a pristine and primordial area filled with rock houses, wild azaleas, sheer cliffs and abundant wildlife.
Situated on top of the hollow across from and 85 foot seasonal waterfall, the 3000sf lodge is a Frank Lloyd Wright styled home built of rock, glass and redwood. It is an outdoor enthusiast's dream come true and protects the 150 surrounding acres. The 3000sf of decks and patios invite you to watch the changing seasons, the birds and the squirrels in the morning and the moon and the stars in the evening and the parade of wildlife migrating through the area.
Inside there is luxury uncommon for the Buffalo River area. Every modern convenience is combined with beautiful home decorations and abundant artwork, much of it by local artists. Generations of antiques and collectibles will make you feel at home, relaxed and renewed. "At peace", "a spiritual quality" and "magical" are some of the comments used to describe the ambience of the lodge and its surroundings. Comfort and room to breathe are assured by 3 bedrooms, 3 full baths, whirlpool tub, fully appointed kitchen and 2 stone fireplaces (with wood in season). These amenities are only enhanced by satellite TV, DVD/VCR, stereo system, telephone , Wifi and 3 sleeper sofas for larger groups. The lodge was designed to be a private residence and rates are for rental of the home in its entirety.
Naturally blended into the beautiful Ozark Mountains, Azalea Falls Lodge is very private, a natural for small weddings, honeymoons, romantic getaways, anniversary celebrations, family reunions and church or business retreats.

Beautiful place, photos can’t do it justice! The host was very nice and responsive! The beds were comfy and the vibe was immaculate! The kitchen was stocked well, though, be weary of the previous guests dishwashing job! All in all it was a great experience. We hope to be back in the future!
Plenty of room. Great views. Beds were not great, felt old and lumpy. We were awakened several times by “critters” gnawing or scratching on walls and ceiling. Would not have stayed a second night because of this. Home also very cluttered - too many large pieces and lots of “nic-nacs” scattered about. Driveway and parking spots are challenging to navigate.

I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay. I appreciate your input and will look into your issues. Thanks very much..
Like a step back in time the house was decorated warm and cozy you just wanted to pick up a book and curl up by the fire place and read all day. The kids loved it they loved hiking the mile trail and the cookies in the tin Kathy left for us and the candy in the jar. It was very peaceful in the woods The big deck was great to sit on in the morning and have coffee. Great place for the family to all unwind and catch up with each other again

Thank you for your kind words. It was a pleasure to have you and your family at Azalea Falls.
The buildings are beautiful and fit neatly into the landscape. The luxury of the cabin and lodge are a welcome relief after a wonderful but exhausting day spent in the wind, water, and sunshine. Think jacuzzi for sore muscles and cold a/c to help you relax.
What a wonderful piece of paradise. Everything was absolutely perfect from being greeted with a warm beautiful smile to the amazing fresh flowers, champagne, and chocolates left in our lodge. It definitely made the best anniversary/Valentines getaway we’ve ever had.. I can’t get over how peaceful listening to the waterfall on the back porch was. Even both of the fireplaces were ready for us to just light and enjoy ….no hassle. My husband also enjoyed all the candies around the house lol he was like a little kid. I enjoyed the jetted bath while listening to the fireplace crackle. The property itself is beyond words!!!! Just stunning the amount of beautiful moss mixed with all the rock formations was breathtaking. We loved hiking so much we will definitely be back hands down best property and home we have found.

Thank you for your kind words. It was our pleasure to have you as our guest at Azalea Falls and we will hope to see you again in the future.
Clean, beautiful, comfortable, spacious, home away from home, huge, elegant deck sitting on the bluffs above picturesque ozark hardwoods. Easily accessible, thoughtful host, will definitely be back. Love it.
The home is fascinating. We could have wandered throughout it for days. The detail and design are amazing. Kathy is a lovely host and the grounds are gorgeous. We were fortunate enough to see the falls in all their glory and hiked to the lower and upper levels. The deck has perfect views of all things nature and bird watching which made for a great backdrop to relax and catch up. Also, this house was SPOTLESS (a hard feat so embedded in nature). You are not far from Steel Creek Campground which is a great stop to get out and enjoy the Buffalo National River, Boxley Valley for elk watching, and Jasper, AR. Great trip all around!
Stunningly Beautiful Lodge and On-site Hiking Trail
This lodge was hands down my most enjoyable cabin/lodge rental experience. The house was very elegantly designed with every necessary accommodation for a fun get together with many friends or family. The host kept cooking supplies well stocked and the bathrooms and bedrooms kept all of the guests well rested and refreshed. We had a gorgeous waterfall view right in front of the patio/deck area that kept us constantly immersed in the beauty of the Ozarks. There is even a very fun mile long hiking loop that takes you to the base and top of this waterfall if you're looking for an adventure. 10/10 - I plan on staying again!

Peaceful Home and Stunning Location for Retreat / Quiet Getaway
The Azalea Falls Lodge home is an absolute gem. We could were enchanted with the furnishings and found every amenity needed for our stay including firewood and kindling. We enjoyed cooking dinners at the house, lounging by the fireplace, and sitting on the deck listening to the waterfall. Kathy's love of hosting is evident by all of the thoughtful touches including fresh flowers, cookies, and champagne. The home was in the perfect location to hike at Hawk's Bill Crag and Lost Valley. We truly did not want to leave and are looking forward to returning.

Thanks so much for your kind words. We enjoyed having you as our guests at Azalea Falls and will hope to see you again one day.
Three of us took a trip to northern Arkansas in April to float the Buffalo river and hike the trials.
We stayed two nights at the Azalea Falls Lodge near Kingston. We were very surprised by, and impressed with the accommodations. Two very spacious bedrooms, at third small bedroom, a nice kitchen and great living areas. The lodge is set on a cliff overlooking a fantastic waterfall.
We were fortunate to have the falls in full flow and spent most of the time on the huge deck enjoying the sound and view of the falls.
Be sure to bring food with you as there are no restaurants and very few stores nearby.
This place was absolutely amazing and in the middle of nowhere, which is exactly what we wanted. The waterfall wasn’t running due to the lack of rain, but it was still a beautiful area. Not the best driveway for motorcycles, but we managed to make it up and down without incident. The air conditioner did have a little tough time cooling the place, but they had very unusually heat in the area and had cooled down through the night when temps were normal for the area. I would 100% stay here again! Tons of space and a great getaway from the world.
Thank you for your lovely hospitality. We are so grateful that you shared your beautiful property with us for this time. You really pay attention to the details. I have never been to such a well-stocked rental. Your care for your guests is obvious. A highlight for me was reading about Alf in the coffee table book about thomg trees of Newton County. It was a delightful read. Your night sky view is sensational. We were very excited to stay at your place, and our stay exceeded our high expectations! I hope we will meet again!
EVEN THOUGH WE HAD TO CUT OUR STAY SHORT IT WAS WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED. VERY PEACEFUL, WE DONE EXACTLY WHAT WE WANTED WHICH WAS NOTHING. THE DECK WAS A GREAT PLACE TO HANG OUT AND GET SUN. THE JETTED TUB WAS A BONUS TREAT.
THE ONLY THING THAT WE WILL HAVE TO REMEMBER IS TO BRING BUG SPRAY LOL.
P.S.
THE RACOONS LOVE THE TRASH SO KEEP IT INSIDE.
THANKS AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING

If you like the outdoors, the sound of rushing waterfalls, the singing of birds, eclectic charm and beautiful art pieces, you will want to choose Azaelea Falls. We stayed in the Lodge, and it was amazing. There would have been plenty of room for more guests - the Lodge is big and laid out well to accommodate more than the two of us. We drove into town a couple of times for lunch - great restaurant choices, and the food was great! There are steep and curvy roads but maneuverable. We got to see the elk - actually right up near the road. We would highly recommend this VRBO location. The host greeted us as we arrived by name and gave us a nice orientation to the area based on what our interests were. You can't go wrong with this one! Loved it and hope to be back sooner rather than later!

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Check-in
Very beautiful scenery
The property was fine, it smelled a bit old but it wasn’t so bad. The outdoor part of the property was beautiful, amazing deck!
It was kind of a bummer that the office for this property was located very close to the place we stayed. It just seemed a bit like we we weren’t really on our own. I’d recommend for a smaller group or something very mild. I went with some of my guys and I just felt like we weren’t very trusted to be there. Overall, the manager was very nice but I wish we would have been more on our own.

I guess you didn't care for the air freshener scent that was used--it is hard to please everyone. Also, sorry that you had to pay for the additional guests but that, and in case there should be a problem, is why our office is on the property. Thank you for your stay.
