We had the best time at Buffalo Lodge! We had a group of teenagers and the bunk house was perfect for the boys. We only wish we had more time there. We cooked for a big group and found the kitchen was well stocked. The beds were comfortable and plenty of extra blankets. I truly have nothing bad to say about the lodge, it was just what we were looking for. It’s not for those looking for a luxurious stay, but if you want cozy and low key, it’s amazing. We are looking forward to our next visit!
Wonderful place for our retreat! The whole renting, check-in and check-out process was such an easy process.Perfect space for our group of 22.We would definitely recommend this place.
Our property manager, Jeff was amazing! Any time we had a question etc. he was returning our call/text immediately!! Our place was perfect for us and the cleaning team did an outstanding job preparing the lodge for us. Everything we needed was available there at the lodge! If you are wanting a place to stay Buffalo Lodge is the place to be!!!
Great cabin! Loved the remote location! Near a lot of hiking spots. Plenty of room to spread out! Everything was as s expected and Jeff was great to deal with!!!!
Our family of five loved the cabin. Jeff was an unbelievable host before, during & after our stay. The location is perfect if you like making memories in a secluded & peaceful place. We loved morning coffee on the back porch, table tennis in the game room, Twin Falls at nearby Camp Orr, Low Gap Cafe & downtown shops & restaurants at Jasper (ten minutes away).
Terrific cabin getaway--family friendly and we loved it.
Plenty of room. So quiet. Bigger kids loved hiking and exploring. Smaller ones loved running around. Lots of games and books. Enclosed porch was a big fave.
Great place!
Definitely recommend for lots of groups.
This made for the perfect family weekend! Plenty of room, everything we needed to cook, grill, have a campfire, puzzle, etc. Even a Christmas tree!! Jeff is the perfect host with the perfect place and we will be back next year!
This place is amazing! Plenty of space, so clean, well equipped (beyond what you’d ever expect), beautiful!! Thank you Jeff for your attention to detail and for making your lodge a place for families and groups to gather, rest, refuel, laugh, and experience the sheer beauty of God’s creation. Our family loved every second. We will be back!
We rented this cabin for 18 people, 10 adults and 8 kids. It is 1/2 of mike down a dirt road to get down to the cabin so we didn’t have to worry constantly about the kids being near a road. The room with 7 beds was perfect for the kids to all sleep together in their own room. The large kitchen and island was great for breakfast, and then we spent the rest of the day at the river or by the fire pit. The cabin is rustic but very comfortable for a large group.
Truly a great find. We had 6 adults with motorcycles and the riding to and from the lodge was awesome ! Very quiet and secluded with lots of space to hang out. It’s a bit outdated but it just adds to the character and charm. Very clean and a well stocked kitchen with all your cooking needs. Beds were comfortable. Would recommend staying here for sure. Jeff is an amazing host, always available for a quick question.
Thanks Jeff for sharing your place with us!
This is a big old rambling cabin that we used for 13 family members to make memories. We cooked, laughed, played ping-pong, roasted marshmallows, enjoyed the hammock, and went for short hikes (having a 2- and 3-year-old with us meant naptimes in the middle of the day). We even set up tents so some of the youngest of us could experience sleeping in a tent. We heard coyotes but didn't see a lot of wildlife other than birds. The cabin is comfy and welcoming with the caveat that there are a lot of mounted antlers and some taxidermy work, which unnerved a couple of us, but it was workable nonetheless. You will absolutely not need to bring dishes: they have it all. We would absolutely love to return!
Couple of suggestions:
1) The VRBO listing never mentioned anything about this property having STAIRS. It was a bit of a problem for our group consisting from great grandparents to a new born.
2) There should be blinds or shutters or at least curtains in the downstairs bedroom. Not everyone wishes to wake up with the sunrise.

Great location
The listing was misleading in regards to the number of bathrooms and bedrooms. The listing shows 6 bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths. When we arrived there were only 3 bathrooms in the house and a half bath in the detached rec. room (converted garage). There were only 5 bedrooms and one single bed in the hallway. This made it inconvenient for the 6 adult couples that stayed there. We can only assume that the other bedroom and bath were in the upstairs of the rec room that was locked. There were quite a few spider webs and the house was a little musty smelling. That being said the kitchen was very well stocked with plenty of room and the dining room table was great for our big group. The location and fire pit were great. We would stay there again but we feel like the house needs to be cleaned better and the listing needs to be updated with the correct number of bedrooms and bathrooms.

Tom,
There are certainly 6 bedrooms (plus an additional sleeping area) and 4 1/2 baths total. I am sorry for any lack of communication. I have been renting Buffalo Lodge for almost 15 years. I understand some of your group had stayed before. I maintain a 24 hour toll-free number to answer all questions and provide guest service. My guests normally communicate directly with me. You are correct the 6th bedroom is above the rec room. It has 10 more beds!!! Since the main lodge sleeps 22, there is a separate lockbox on that bedroom. Normally it is used for large groups, but I would have gladly opened it up for your smaller group if I had known you desired it. I did meet some of your group, but nothing was mentioned? PLEASE contact me immediately in the future with any questions or concerns. I promise I will do whatever is in my power to make your stay comfortable and memorable. I am glad you enjoyed this special secluded property. Thanks again!
God Bless,
Jeff

Have owned and rented my Buffalo River Lodging log cabins for the past 20+ years! Our family has deep roots in the Ozark Mountains and I inherited my dad's and grandfather's love of fishing, camping and floating clear Ozarks streams. Now I can enjoy sharing these pleasures with guests from throughout America. I believe you will be amazed by the natural grandeur and beauty of the area.
