The Fiddle Creek Cabin offers all the amenities of home, only a short distance from some of the most popular recreation areas in Alaska!

Walk, ski, or bike from your cozy cabin door to the newly developed Government Peak trail system. Hike to the fireweed fields and waterfall or all the way to the summit on well-marked trails.

A 5-minute drive will take you to the Hatcher Pass public recreation area famous for a variety of activities: The fresh white snow is great for cross country and down hill skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, and snow-shoeing. Our 19.5 hours of daylight during the summer months provide opportunity for berry picking, fishing, bird watching, paragliding, sightseeing, golfing, or gold-panning! The Independence Mine State Historical Park is a must-see for visitors intrigued by Alaska's gold mining past.

After adventuring, return to your comfortable "base camp" in its quiet neighborhood at the foot of the mountain. Whether you like to heat up easy snacks or prepare seven-course meals, you can do it in the Fiddle Creek Cabins' modern kitchen. Outside, there's a BBQ grill and a fire pit with a breath-taking view of nearby mountains. Or you can relax inside with Netflix on the flat screen TV and Wi-Fi for all your devices. Another nice stay

This is our third time to the cabin. We really enjoy the atmosphere of the cabin and the surrounding area. Everything is as advertised in the listing which is why we come back.

Gorgeous tiny cabin

The cabin is adorable and so thoughtfully and beautifully appointed. The setting is just gorgeous. It’s only a ten-minute drive to town and so lovely to be away in this quiet and scenic setting. Highly recommend staying here when in the area

Peaceful Getaway

This was truly an amazing and peaceful getaway location. I spent the weekend here and explored the Hatcher Pass Recreational area. The cabin location was perfect! The cabin offers every amenity needed. The property was very clean and the babbling brook running along side the cabin was so peaceful and relaxing. I would recommend staying here for any reason. This location did not disappoint!

Peaceful. Nice mountain view. Enjoyed the sound of the creek fllowing next to cabin. Fire pit and outside seating a plus. Good base camp for hiking in area. Property was clean, well maintained with comfotable beds. Will definitely stay here again if in the area.

Wonderful place to stay

Lovely Cabin

This cabin is wonderful! We loved everything about it. It was perfect for our family of four and we were very comfortable. We had great communication with the hosts. They were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. We would love to come back here one day!

Peaceful and Relaxing

This place was the perfect first stop for our two week trip in Alaska! It was peaceful listening to the bubbling creek and watching the fire we made each night. Heather even refilled our firewood for our last night, which made for an amazing last fire that inspired us to cook outside and completed a great stay! The cabin itself is adorable, and the screen door makes it seem like we were outside even when we were sitting on the comfy couch:)

Beautiful

Cute, clean, perfect to cook simple meals. Rest stop for us transitioning from Denali area to south of Anchorage. Beautiful scenery, peaceful brook you can hear from front porch. Lots of hiking nearby.

Cabin was really well thought out and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the little creek that was next to the cabin. Although we were only at the cabin one night and passing through the area, if you were going to spend some time around the Palmer area, I would highly suggest this cabin. It's very near Government Peak and the Hatcher Pass Recreation areas that support a lot of outdoor activities.

LOVED our stay at Fiddle Creek Cabin!

We stayed at Fiddle Creek Cabin on our last night of a 15 day trip in Alaska. We were on our way back to Anchorage. This was the perfect way to end our vacation. We loved the babbling creek outside our door and the magnificent view of the mountain! We wish we had planned more time in the Palmer area as you get a glimpse of the Wrangel St Elias Mountains which are breath taking! The owner was attentive and we had the pleasure of meeting she and her two children. We will most definitely recommend the Fiddle Creek Cabin to any friends or family traveling through Palmer AK. As a side note, we did a quick Google search for restaurants before checking in and were pointed to the Noisy Goose. It was a cute diner, good food. We brought 2 slices of pie back for a late dessert. It was delicious! We joked that you know you are in Alaska when you eat at the Flying Squirrel (Talkeetna) in the morning and at the Noisy Goose (Palmer) in the afternoon. Both great choices. About the host

Hosted by David & Heather Farmer

David & Heather, along with their three kids, love to enjoy the many things that Hatcher Pass has to offer. They like to ski, bike, and hike right from their back yard. They bought the five acre lot and immediately began building in 2006. The most recent building project has been The Fiddle Creek Cabin. Much of the lumber used to build the cabin is from spruce cut logs which were harvested locally and sawed by David. Heather is the interior designer and decorator. Both David and Heather have had lots of helpful hands as this has been a family project. They are sure you will enjoy both the location of this cabin as well as the unique details that The Fiddle Creek Cabin has to offer such as the arched bridge, fire pit and a covered porch.

The best part about the property is the stellar mountain view of Government Peak where the reflection of the sun changes the view multiple times throughout the day.
