About this property
Great Terry Peak location with hot tub & garage
Welcome to Rustic Pines Hideaway, our cozy cabin nestled in the pines and aspens of the Black Hills!
Rustic Pines Hideaway is perfect for large families or multiple groups traveling together – each of the 3 floors has a private bedroom, bathroom, and individual living space. There is Wi-Fi throughout and two smart TVs with Netflix. Most importantly, there is a large 2-car GARAGE to keep the snow away during winter storms, a huge front porch for relaxing in the summer, a back patio and 7-person hot tub to enjoy any time, and a mud room to keep your skis, boots, and jackets out of the way.
The main floor has one bedroom with a queen bed, one private bathroom, main living room & gas fireplace, dining area, washer/dryer, and full kitchen with dishwasher. The top floor has the best views of Terry Peak, one bedroom with a king bed, one private bathroom, a sleeper sofa and TV in the loft area. Downstairs you'll find one bedroom with a king bed, one private bathroom, a sleeper sofa and TV in the family room, and a separate 'game table' area where you can stay up late playing board games or doing puzzles.
An all-season destination, you're surrounded by the natural beauty of the Black Hills and a host of outdoor activities for everyone. In addition to downhill skiing and snowmobiling, winter offers snowshoeing trails, fatbike tracks, ice climbing and cross-country skiing. When the snow and ice melt, hiking and biking trails abound, while streams and lakes attract anglers trying their luck.
Just down the road, historic Lead boasts the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center and downtown Deadwood offers gambling and restaurants. Spearfish Canyon (~30 minutes away) has the best waterfalls and fall-color-changes in the area. You can visit Mount Rushmore (just over 1 hour away), Crazy Horse Memorial (1.5 hours), Jewel Cave National Monument (1.5 hours), Devil's Tower National Monument (1.5 hours), Wind Cave National Park and Custer State Park (1 hour 45 mins away), and even the Badlands (2 hours).
Close enough to amenities to be convenient, but remote enough to assure a relaxing stay, Rustic Pines Hideaway is ready to host you!
~ There is a large Mini-Split AC system in the main room. The bedrooms do not have individual AC units, but the area gets nice and cool at night and all bedrooms have ceiling fans as well.
~ This is the Black Hills of South Dakota, so be prepared to see wildlife outside. Make sure all doors or screens are kept shut to keep them outside.
~ We will not override our cancellation policy due to weather, particularly lack of snow for skiing & snowmobiling, or too much rain causing muddy ATV/UTV trails. We have tried everything in our power to control the weather, but apparently there is not an app for that yet.

About the host
Hosted by Vacation in the Black Hills

My wife Marcia and I have been Northern Hills residents since 1991. We both come from different places, but the Black Hills are home to us now. We invite you to come stay and enjoy the area and all it has to offer - you may like it here so much you decide to stay like we did! Most of our family is in the area, and we were blessed in 2016 with our first grandchild and namesake to this cabin, Harper. This little tyke loves it here, and we hope you do too.
Why they chose this property
This was an ideal size for our family to use on occasion, and the perfect size for most families looking for a vacation rental. It is much larger than it looks in pictures, so we know you will be as pleasantly surprised as we were when we first saw the home. This home is situated so close to many attractions in the hills, it was a natural fir for us, and for many travelers too. Give us a try, you will be glad you did!
What makes this property unique
A bedroom on and bathroom on each of the 3 floors, a hot tub that seats 7, and a 2 car garage. Many of the vacation rentals in the same area do not have garages, so we opted to choose this one because of that added feature. It also came furnished with high quality furnishings, and that made the decision even easier.
