About this property

Quaint cottage located directly on Long Meadow Pond

Wonderful lakefront cottage with a sun porch, sunny deck, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, beautiful sunsets, and your own private boat dock. Enjoy a quiet family getaway as you relax on the deck while your kids fish and swim. Ideal for families looking to relax and disconnect.

The kitchen is fully outfitted and cottage includes a gas grill, heat, and air conditioning. You will also have the use of kayaks, paddle boards, a canoe, and a row boat. Pond only allows electric motors (motor not provided) so it is nice and quiet. We have numerous fishing poles, fishing tackle, and life jackets of all sizes.

Includes cable and Wi-Fi.

The cottage does NOT include a dishwasher or washer/dryer. The laundromat is named Washerwoman of Litchfield. They can be reached at 860-567-9917.

The cottage is located 2 hours from NYC and fifteen minutes from local wineries and beautiful Connecticut sightseeing including hiking trails at White Memorial (White Memorial is a 4000-acre nature preserve with miles of hiking and biking trails--trail map available at the cottage). Wonderful restaurants and shopping are located in nearby Litchfield, CT. We also have many board games, Foosball, old fashioned Atari, a Wii, and air hockey. There is also a host of DVD's and a DVD player, as well.

The cottage outfitted with both heat and A/C and also makes a perfect winter get away. The lake is great for ice skating and ice fishing. We are also a short drive to several downhill ski mountains including Mohawk Mountain and Ski Sundown and close by to White Memorial for cross country skiing.

We loved it. Beautiful property close to lots of hiking. The bed was not our favorite, but thats probably becasue we didnt know how to get the right sleep number. It was clean and comfortable.

You very much enjoyed the peace and tranquility of our 3-day stay in Maura's cottage. It was the perfect location for our bike trips. The house was spotlessly clean, and exactly as advertised.

We had a good stay at MiMis cottage. Honestly it felt like Mimi passed and it went straight to Vrbo. Disappointed I had to bring my own sheets and towels and didn’t find out until the night before we left. The bed was the proto-type for Sleep Number or maybe I just couldn’t find the right number. Ran out of TP our last night. I chose to not bother Maura with that though. The kitchen was fully stocked. The house was clean. Just needs a little updating. The view was peaceful. Wish it was warmer during our visit!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend at the cottage on Bantam Lake. The cottage is very comfortable, clean and attractive with a spectacular view of the lake. We would definitely return and would enjoy a summer stay with access to the lake and private beach.

Back in 1995, my grandmother wanted to find a peaceful cottage to spend her summers. After looking at many cottages at many lakes, she chose Kasson Grove to spend her time. A peaceful and quiet area, she enjoyed herself immensely and had many gathering with her friends and family year after year until her passing.

Since taking over the cottage with my brother, we have striven to keep things simple and quiet. We have done many cottage updates over the years, the last being a new roof and air conditioning in 2019.

My brother and I, along with the rest of our extended family, have enjoyed the lake cottage so much over the years. However, now that our own children are getting older and busier, we have decided that others should also have the opportunity to enjoy a quiet and restful retreat. We began renting the cottage in the last few years, and continue to listen to suggestions to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

This property is exceptional for those families and couples who are looking to get away to enjoy the splendors of nature. Set directly on Long Meadow Pond, the views, sunsets, and peaceful area will win you over immediately. There are enough "water toys" for the entire family to enjoy together, and with comfortable climate control, cable, WiFi, and a host of games and movies, it's the perfect getaway. Also, the community boasts its own private beach, as well.
