About this property

Relaxing home for families a short walk from the beach on a quiet street

Need a vacation that is truly relaxing for parents with small children? Our family's beach house has 3 bedrooms, a bunk room, a spacious, well-stocked kitchen, wraparound deck, a bathroom on each level, smart tv, wireless internet, full laundry, and more just two short blocks from easy beach, jetty, lake or bay access!

A flat 5-minute walk will get you to the beach, or a short 3-mile drive will have you in downtown Rockaway or hikes on Neahkahnie Mountain. If you'd rather stay in, we have games, 4K smart TVs, dvds, books, and lots of comfortable seating.

We want parents and grandparents of small children to be able to sit back and truly relax, so we have tried to think of everything - we have available a pack n play, high chair, baby gates, kids dishes, a white noise machine, night lights, toys, books, step stools, and even a potty seat. We also have a free-standing corral available to block off any mischief. TVs and bookshelves are secured for your peace of mind.

The bedrooms have all brand new mattresses with allergen covers. Downstairs you'll find a king and a queen, upstairs is a queen. The bunk room (downstairs) has two twins and an extra mattress available.

The driveway has two long sides to fit six cars, or have room for a boat trailer, or an RV for larger family gatherings. Please note no on-street parking is allowed.

Dogs are welcome with an additional fee upon approval.

Comfy stay near Rockaway Beach

Quiet place close to Rockaway Beach. Easy walk to the beach and close to Hwy 101, but didn't have the highway noise. Clean home, lots of games and puzzles, baby gate to keep the kiddos (or fur babies) from the stairs. We enjoyed our stay and want to return.

Just as advertised

We were very pleased at how well equipped the property is. We brought everything we needed but used almost nothing. And it was a big plus to have access to the large garage to store fishing gear and change out of our sandy clothes and shoes.

Worked great for us

The layout of the house, the decks, and the quiet neighborhood were great! It has the best stocked kitchen for any rental we've stayed at. The only small complaint is that the bedroom under the kitchen area is noisy so take a white noise machine if you are a light sleeper. We had the water heater go out while we were there but the owners were quick to fix it and even gave us a small refund. Thank you Marcy and Aaron, we hope to rent your lovely home again.

Nice enough house, mold issue

My husband, children and I just had a long stay at this house. We have rented pet friendly places before and you would never know animals had stayed there. This house was definitely loved by dogs. Stained, chewed furniture, and smell. That didn't bother us. It was the dank mold smell in the lower level that really bothered us. My husband and I prefer a king size bed, which was in the lower level. We could not sleep in that bedroom because of the smell. My sons and I have asthma and we all had asthma attacks from the mold odor in that room. So we just avoided it. The smell was much worse in the laundry room. We've been renting in Rockaway Beach for 10 years now, and we've never had a rental with odor issues like this. It was disappointing. Especially considering the thousands we spent renting it.

Wow. I really wish you'd let us know during your stay that you were experiencing issues, especially when my husband was there to mow the lawn, because everyone before and since, including ourselves, has not found any dank smells at all so that makes it hard for us to address whatever you experienced. The coast can be very damp, so we're very vigilant to mold or mildew. It's sad that some recent dogs have bitten the ottoman, and we will have to replace it. I suggest for future rentals you let the owners know if anything is unsatisfactory before you leave. I'm so sorry you weren't 100% pleased.

Relaxing vacation! House is well stocked with everything you need. Marcy was very nice and easy to get in touch with. Beach access is a short walk to a practically private beach. Definitely recommend staying at Marcys house☀️

Lovely weekend

Thank you for a perfect family weekend! The beds were cozy and house is nice and close to the beach. Well supplied, we wish there had been a citrus squeezer (! Margaritas)! But we clearly survived. Nice neighbors. Thank you!

A very quiet location and only a half mile from town. The house was clean & well stocked. Everything in the home was up to date & functioning. The beach was very close & convenient to get to. This was a perfect house for 5 adults & 2 kids. We would rent it again. Marcy is wonderful to talk to on the phone.

Rockaway Beach House

Property was comfortable and true to the pictures. Pretty much everything we needed for 5 adults and 2 young children. You can social distance without a problem plus it is a short distance to walk to the beach or there is a place to park if you want to drive. You can't see the ocean but you can hear it. The house was nicely child proofed for the children who liked to run around the upper deck to play. The living room gate was very appreciated, too. We cooked most meals in. ( If you want to order pizza--order early and specify a time. They were super busy.) The nice thing I have always liked about Rockaway is that the beaches are never crowded. Social distancing wasn't a problem there. This was the perfect house for 7 people. We appreciated a safe place to getaway during this pandemic.

Perfect family house.

Great spot near the beach

This was a very relaxing beach weekend! The house has a great central area as well as great bedrooms. Was very clean, and welcoming! The hosts do a good job of letting you know where to go in town for a quick meal or great tourist shop. I don't have kids, but this would be a great spot to bring children, as it is a short walk from the beach, and the house is very kid friendly. It had toys, books and safety gates. Would definitely stay here again!

Charming home, steps from the beach

We spent 5 nights in this cozy beach home and loved every minute. The home is comfortably furnished and the cupboards well stocked with all the amenities and cookware you may need. Our family enjoyed the short walk to the beach and found the location idyllic- plenty to do in and around the quaint town of Rockaway and conveniently located close to other larger coastal towns. As if this weren’t enough, the host is lovely- warm, responsive and helpful. She has even prepared a welcome binder with local things to do, contact information and helpful tips for enjoying your stay. We will be back!

Quiet and relaxing getaway!

We loved our weekend at the "Happy Coast Haven"! Coming from a busy area in Portland it's so nice to get away from all the noise and busyness of the city. The house itself Is super great! Enough room to spread out and relax but cozy enough to have intimate family moments. Fully stocked kitchen made cooking and eating a breeze. Tons of windows and natural light made the upstairs feel very open and inviting. All of the little touches put into the house and making it convenient for families shouldn't be understated! Toys for the kids and games for the family really took it to the next level. One of my children wanted to spend more time at the beach house then he did at the beach! Speaking of, having such a quick walk to the beach was the icing on the cake! Five minutes and you were right there! The section of beach we went to was not terribly busy which is always a nice touch! It was a very enjoyable weekend at a laid back and fantastic beach house! Five stars! I would definitely go back!

Cozy spot for family get away

We really enjoyed our beach weekend at this house! The house is cozy and comfortable with lots of little touches for families with little ones, like a pack n play, a high chair and a few toys. The neighborhood is quiet with nice neighbors, and the beach is just a short walk away. We can't wait to go back again!

Really Convenient location, close to the beach and 6 minute drive to town. Parking area can comfortably accommodate 4 cars or more. Kitchen is adequate for family meals and really nice living room area with a big TV!

It is a great house. Cozy and comfortable. Short walk to the beach and it's a great beach. The bed was comfy, slept in the first bedroom downstairs, the showerhead in that bathroom needs replaced. Otherwise a very enjoyable stay. Definitely will go back.
