About this property
Stone Cottage is located in a beautiful mountain gorge

Stone Cottage has 1400 square feet of living space. The master bedroom features a queen-size bed. Other bedroom features twin beds. Cottage has two full baths. Living room has a large-screen TV, Direct TV provided, and fireplace with gas logs. Sunroom has additional dining table that seats six. New central heat and air. Perfect for family of four, or two couples. I know, twin beds in one room, but a twin bed is very cozy with two.

About the host
Hosted by James Sane
I was born and raised in western North Carolina. Sylvia and I have lived in Gerton for the past eighteen years. We purchased our house here in 1996. We moved here in 2000 to live full-time. I have extensive family roots to this area. Gerton is named after my Great-Great Aunt, Gertrude Freeman.
I retired from the Army in 1995. I spent my first eight years in the Airborne Infantry. I Became an Army Aviator in 1981. I flew helicopters until I retired in 1995. I flew a CH-47 Chinook helicopter in Desert Storm in 1990-1991. I've been a member of the Gerton Fire and Rescue Department for the past 20 years.
Sylvia and I have been married for 41 years. That's 287 years in dog years. Sylvia is a Georgia girl.

Why they chose this property
I was raised 21 miles down the road from Gerton. We would come to Gerton for visits when I was growing up. I always wanted to live in Gerton. Now I do.
What makes this property unique
I loved this property for many reasons. I can stand on my deck and view Bearwallow Mountain. Yes, bears do wallow there. It's just the most peaceful place to live. Great neighbors.
