Lake Sam Rayburn - Plenty of boat parking

If you are looking for a romantic get away, this place is not for you. If you want to bring your fishing buddies to kick back, relax and BBQ after a long day, this place is for you.

Come enjoy the famous Lake Sam Rayburn Reservoir. Stay in a recently remodeled home that is located less than 1 mile from Zavalla, TX, which offers a grocery store, restaurants, tackle store and more.
The property is not waterfront or waterview, but is centrally located near all the conveniences that the town of Zavalla offers.
Only a 5 minute drive to boat ramps Monteray Park, Cassel Boykins Park, and Jackson Hill. Hanks Creek Park is only a 10 minute drive away and it offers swimming and picnic areas for the family to enjoy.
We offer plenty of boat and ATV trailer parking with outside plugs. Parking is large enough to hold over 4 boats and trucks without ever unhooking. There is an outdoor grill, firepit and seating under a large shaded trees.

Lake: Sam Rayburn Lake is an army corp lake for flood control that is surrounded by national forest. There are no piers or boathouses allowed on the water and in fact there are very few houses on the lake. Lake has minimum access except for a few parks which we are only a 5 - 10 minute drive to 3 of the main parks being Hanks Creek, Jackson Hill and Cassel Boykins. Be sure to bring your binoculars. There are unbelievable views around the lake where you can sometimes see bald eagles, otters and later in the year possibly an alligator.

Area: Deep East Texas has very limited industries as a result there is rural poverty in the area. With that said, there is an older mobile home within site of our rent house. The guy who owns this does not maintain his property to most peoples standards, but by no means is he a criminal. He is one of the best neighbors that looks out for our property and we are blessed to have such a thoughtful neighbor.

House: The house is very clean and comfortable and should meet all your needs, however this is not waterview but a short distance drive to the water.

None of this is to discourage you! We do not want anyone to be misled since most visitors are not familiar with the area. In this area of the lake, we are by far the cleanest, roomiest, and most modern place for the price.

If pets have excessive shedding or damage linens all cost of additional cleaning will be deducted from deposit.

I rented this property for a fishing trip for my husband and 3 of his friends. They all said it was excellent. Had everything they needed. Was comfortable and quiet. Bath towels were nice enough for a 5 star hotel. They hope to make a return trip next year and hope this property is available.

Perfect for fishing tournament

Nice place with easy access to boat ramps and weigh in area for fishing tournament. Not fancy, basic accommodations. Fishermen will like it just fine. I do feel like it’s a little pricey for the size, location and amenities. There is a slight smell in the place that we couldn’t put our finger on, if you have a discerning nose. It gets the job done. Communication with host was great and they even allowed a late checkout.

Annual Fishing Trip

Clean and well kept. Kitchen was supplied very well. First thought of being away from the lake was not good. But, it worked great for us to be central to each of the boat ramps where we fish. The internet was the only poor thing of our stay. Once we learned that we can drive the block with the boat, that became super easy.

Perfect accommodations for 4 fishermen (2 boats). Super clean, very spacious, well equipped with all we needed, excellent TV and Wi-Fi services, very convenient to Cassel Boykins and Caney Creek boat ramps. Nice outdoor area for relaxing and front porch for telling fish stories. BBQ grill and fire pit available. A 5+ out of 5.

Keith and I grew up in a small town in Texas within a few miles of world class fishing. After moving to Houston and having successful careers, we decided to take early retirement and return to the East Texas area we loved growing up. We now live at Lake Sam Rayburn where we enjoy the great outdoors, especially fishing.

Why they chose this property

I fell in love with this property because of its central location. The fact that it is only a mile to all the conveniences of town and within 5 minutes to two boat ramps on Sam Rayburn was the deciding factor for us to buy the house.

What makes this property unique

This house is a great place for all to enjoy but it is especially convenient for fishermen. We offer plenty of parking that can handle over 4 boats.
