Blue Heron Lakehouse: Premier Waterfront Oasis Ideal for FIFA World Cup 2026
A stay at Blue Heron Lakehouse is much more than a vacation — it’s an experience. From the moment you step inside, you’ll be greeted with sweeping views of Lake Sammamish and the Cascade Mountains. The home is filled with contemporary artwork, thoughtful design and luxurious finishes that create a comfortable and welcoming environment.
Although just 25 minutes from Seattle, the property offers complete privacy. Surrounded by woods, gardens and water, it feels like a true retreat. Terraces step down to the lake, and a winding path leads to a quiet Zen garden with a natural stream and waterfall.
Inside, the home has three distinct living areas. The great room features panoramic lake views, a curving sectional, and an open chef’s kitchen with granite counters, high-end appliances and All-Clad cookware. The dining area seats eight at a live-edge table, and a balcony with a bistro set is perfect for morning coffee. The media lounge includes a full granite bar with Sub-Zero beverage fridge, a poker table and a 75-inch TV with 5.1 surround sound, while the sunny family room offers a comfortable space for TV-watching, reading or conversation.
The main floor includes the primary suite with lake and mountain views and its own private bathroom, plus a bunk room for four that shares a bathroom. On the lower level, three additional bedrooms — the Stream Room (king), Patio Suite (queen, with private bathroom), and Lakeview Room (queen) — open to terraces or gardens. All bedrooms feature luxury linens, bathrobes, and plush duvets.
Outside, terraces and gardens lead down to the lake, a perfectly sited hot tub affords lake and mountain views. The renovated boathouse provides a lounge area with kitchenette and opens to a flagstone dining terrace with a Lynx grill and teak table for eight. A deck with fire table offers another space for gathering.
At the water’s edge, a broad lakeside terrace offers plenty of space for relaxation and entertaining. A large seating area with a sectional and side chairs is situated under a huge umbrella, and a dining table for eight makes outdoor meals easy. Flagstone walls, draped in star jasmine, fill the air with fragrance in summer. The long dock provides direct access for swimming, kayaking, and boating. Three kayaks are included, and a boat lift with whips accommodates guests bringing their own watercraft.
Wildlife is abundant, including herons, eagles and various songbirds. Blue Heron Lakehouse combines comfort, privacy and lakeside living for a memorable Northwest getaway.

I came with my family and we had an amazing stay! The view was gorgeous, the kitchen was very well equipped, the outside areas were perfect for a large group with plenty of different seating arrangements all with perfect views of the lake. Overall we loved our stay at Blue Heron and will for sure come back!

Glad you enjoyed yourselves and we enjoyed having you! Certainly a lot to do around here and hopefully we will see you again sometime. Best, Brian and Leslie
Exceptional property and gracious hosts! We hosted our family for the Thanksgiving week which included people from 7 to 90 years old. The space was perfect. The young adults made good use of the boathouse, kayaks, hot tub, and game room. As a foodie family, one of the concerns with rentals is always the quality and variety of cookware and utensils. We were able to put on a tremendous feast. Beautiful sunrises, eagles and herons and ducks galore, great spots to sit and read and ponder the beauty and mysteries of life. Hosts were always available for questions and speedy to help when we needed anything. This is the best VRBO/vacation rental I have experienced. Thank you from our entire family for allowing us to have “best Thanksgiving ever.”
We loved our Thanksgiving holiday with our family at The Blue Heron lakehouse. The kitchen was well equipped, beds are snuggly and the house has a terrific serenity mixed with fun vibe.
We had a wonderful stay with our family at the Blue Heron lake house. Hosts were amazing with communication and ideas for our stay. The outdoor spaces exceed expectations and the lake is a perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway.
Highly recommend for anyone looking to get the best of Seattle while enjoying the natural beauty of the lake.

Exceptional house with room for extended family to relax and discover natural beauty in the lake and it’s constant sparkling water. The close access for water sports and the privacy of a fire pit and hot tub was very appealing. Very well stocked kitchen, comfy bedding and amenities provided.

Thanks, Kay! I'm so glad you had a great time! I enjoyed meeting the two of you, and only wish we'd had more time to drop by for a visit later, as you suggested. You are welcome back at any time!
We had a fabulous stay in Brian & Leslie's home. Leslie gave us great restaurant recommendations while in the area. She was easy to talk to and make arrangements with. We had a reunion with family while at her home. The home was great for the gathering. It was so comfortable. We would love to stay here again.

Our family had a wonderful time at the Blue Heron Lakehouse. Brian and Leslie greeted us upon arrival and were helpful in getting us oriented to the house and surrounding area. They were proactive in checking in to ensure we enjoyed our stay. This place has refined the art of meaningful gatherings. And we feel so grateful to have found memories from a week of fun, laughter, and great company.

Thank you for your wonderful review, Joy! I have to say, your words touched at the heart of what Brian and I strive for. In everything we do, we try to offer the best environment for meaningful connections. And when guests like you tell us that they got to create special memories at our home, it's the "cherry on top." We would love to host you again, and hope you have a great summer!
We had a wonderful stay at the Blue Heron Lake House. The home has spectacular views of Lake Sammamish and the property is perfectly appointed for large groups looking to spend quality time together in a beautiful setting. Leslie and Brian were lovely hosts, their passion for this home and it's beautiful surroundings were evident in every detail prior to and and during our stay. The only opportunity would be the air conditioning. There were some particularly hot days during our stay and the air conditioning was not powerful enough to keep the house cool during the peak temperatures of the day. In all other respects, we give this property top marks!

Thanks for your lovely review, Emily! I'm so glad you and your family really enjoyed your time at our lake place. We appreciate your mention of the air-conditioning issue. We're staying here now, and we have found the same thing--the downstairs air-conditioning works perfectly, but the upstairs just doesn't keep up. We've schedule a repair service, so it should be nice and chill very shortly! We were happy to host you and your family, and hope you have a great rest of your summer!
Great communication with the owner throughout the entire process. The home is beautiful and the views spectacular. House has everything you need. The kayaks were a great way to enjoy the lake. The driveway was exciting, but also has parking on the street level. Would highly recommend the home for family and groups.
We had a wonderful time at the house, lots of space for the small kids and all the adults. Kayak’s were fun and we even had our sons boat to use. The steep driveway was a bit of a challenge, thankful for the stairs to get to the upper parking spaces. The house and its accommodations made it worth the climb. All in all a perfect home for a big family. Thanks to David & Leslie

We're so glad you enjoyed our home, and that it worked so well for your family! We work super hard to make sure there are lots of amenities and spaces to gather. We'd love to have you back at any time! I hope you enjoy the fall!
Everything we could have wished for on a family trip!!! The place is even more charming than the already fabulous pictures. There are so many thoughtful touches like binoculars with a WA bird guide, all the life jacket sizes you would need for the 3 great kayaks. The beds and pillows are very comfortable!! So many areas both inside and outside to lounge and connect in. The property is so well cared for and loved and the host is so helpful at suggesting areas you may want to visit. I wish we had stayed longer.

Thank you for your lovely review, Marilee! It's always so rewarding when a guest notices all the little efforts that went into making a stay at our lake house enjoyable. We're glad you and your family had a great time. I just wish I'd had the chance to meet you. If you're ever in the area again, we'd love to host you!
My family and now husband enjoyed our stay at Brian and Leslie's home! It was only the 6 of us so it was more than enough room for us during our 4 night stay. We would like to thank Leslie and Brian for allowing us to use their home and beautiful outdoor space to elope. We ended up using the deck space near the water for our very short and intimate ceremony to capture the beautiful lake and greenery.
We will be back for a future stay! !
thank you for everything!

Peaceful Sanctuary and Lovely Vista
Wonderful view from both levels! Early morning sunrises were spectacular! Well appointed with every convenience available including a state of the art sound system. Outdoor grill was a particular favorite. Comfortable, open floor plan with contemporary kitchen appliances. Quiet and removed location yet close to shopping and restaurants. We were there at year end and look forward to returning in warmer months to make maximum use of the lakeside recreational features. Owner was helpful and responsive providing information on arrival and as needed.

Hi Lorez,
Thank you for your kind review!
We're so happy you and your family enjoyed our Lake Sammamish home. And it's great to hear that you were here for some of our beautiful sunrises on the lake. We are, indeed, fortunate to be so close to all the action in Bellevue, but tucked away in a private location.
We hope you follow through on enjoying our home in warm weather, when the whole emphasis is on outdoor living and swimming.
All our best,
Brian and Leslie
The “Blue Heron Lakehouse” is aptly named (there us a Blue Heron that visits every morning) and the home was beautiful and very clean. The home was beautiful inside and out and the outdoor spaces were perfect. Our kids loved the hot tub and being right on the lake allowed for constant swims from the dock. Our family was with us and the adults enjoyed the lower patio area with hot tub, fire pit, grill, and plenty of seating. Inside there was plenty of room for everyone and the kitchen was stocked with anything you can think of for cooking or entertaining. Brian and Leslie were fantastic hosts and gave us a full, quick tour at check-in and made themselves available for anything we needed during our stay. Communication before and after was also great. We had a wonderful family week at the house and just wish we could have stayed longer. I certainly recommend this location if you are looking for a beautiful lake front property to take a large family or a few families for a getaway.
Our extended family traveled to Seattle from new York to allend the MLB All-Star Game and Home Run Derby, and to celebrate the 1st birthday of my grand daughter who live in Sammamish. We had 8 adults and 2 children (ages 1 and 4) stying in the house and our Seattle part of the family joined us during the day.
The house fit us perfectly - very clean and well stocked on arrival. It was a most welcome surprise when Brian and Leslie told us they would supply us with high chairs, pack and plays, and a baby gate for the stairs. They even whent and bought a stroller for use yo use so we did not have to schelp one out from New York. Thats REAL service.
Our stay could not have been better and we will definitely make the Lakehouse our first choice on our next family trip to the Pacific Northwest.
PS, the weather was also perfect!!

We're so glad you and your family enjoyed yourselves, Bill! We are always happy to go the extra mile for guests--and I love seeing kids at the lake! They always have such a great time. We enjoyed hosting you, and would love to have you back at any time!
We were desperate to find a location close to Seattle that offered a nature filled experience, but also close to activities and restaurants. My sister was undergoing cancer treatments and needed a break from the city with family. Luckily this home had a cancellation due to CoVid and our prayers were answered. The owners went to great lengths to ensure all was sanitized and ready for our stay. We appreciated their flexibility with an early checkin time as well. The home is beautifully decorated, we thoroughly enjoyed all the options for seating outside for various times of the day. What a treat to see so many eagles flying over and sitting in the trees! Morning kayaks were magical. Loved being able to use the Sonos app to play our own music throughout the home with their speakers. Also loved the two locations with big screen TV's to watch Netflix or Prime Videos. Truly an excellent location and beautiful home just as pictured and it met our every need. We hope to return!

We're just so glad that we had an opening for you and your family, Kay. It's really meaningful to know that we were able to offer a serene getaway when you most needed it. We really appreciate your kind words, and hope to host you again!
The property itself was amazing! All the rooms were well kept and clean. The house came with everything you need for a short or long stay and we were close enough to grocery stores that it was never a hassle to get anything. The hosts were amazing and checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. I had accidentally left something and Brian let me know I left them and graciously sent them to my house! They definitely care about the property and the people who stay here. If we ever go back to the area, we will be booking here. Location was perfect for people who want to be close to the city but not so close they hear constant noise or see a bunch of traffic. The house itself had plenty of room, great water pressure, heated floors and access to the lake. We had kids on this trip and they had a blast with the hot tub, included board games, and bunkbed room. The kitchen had all of the cookware you could ask for and better quality than most rental places. FYI if you are not from the area and less about the property itself The driveway is steep and so if you have a car make sure it’s 4 wheel drive when it rains or you will have trouble getting it out of the driveway. I’m from Florida and we definitely don’t think about this steep type of driveways. Thankfully Brian helped us down and up to make sure we could get our luggage out. I would strongly recommend this propert!
I have been looking at this house on VRBO for that last 4 years, ever since my daughter decided to go to school In Seattle. I finally had a large enough group for graduation.
It was worth the wait. The home was exactly what I hoped for. It felt like a home away from home the minute we walked in. The location on the lake is incredible. Maybe the best part though is that it might be the most well equipped home I have ever rented.
I wanted a place where our family and friends could hang out and enjoy our time together. We made dinner at the home almost every night. There are a lot of great restaurants around but having family time and dinners at the home was the best part. There is an incredible outside spot by the lake to eat. And if the weather is a little off the table inside is also awesome.
Another cool thing about this home is it's close to a lot of great places to visit. Bellevue, Kirkland, and Woodinville are fun places to see just to name a few.
The owners are great to deal with. I booked about 6 months out and bugged them with questions the whole time. I received responses almost immediately every time.
The bottom line is this is probably the best home in the Seattle area to rent for a family/group that wants to enjoy hanging out together. The pictures do not do it justice. The home and the owners created one of the best family experiences we have ever had.
We had a trip we will never forget!

WOW--thank you for your remarkable review, Tom! We really appreciate your comments. We're so happy our home was the perfect spot for your family gathering! Brian and I absolutely love doing what we do, and getting to hear from guests how much they enjoy their visit is just so rewarding. Brian and I hope you have a great summer!
This home has the best views and the host so very accommodating. If you thought the pictures were beautiful, wait til you see it in person. We are in awe and had the best time here. The location was perfect. Far enough from the busyness of the city yet close enough to visit. The house has everything!! We wish we could just live there. I’d love to bring my family back as this would be a great place for a family reunion and the children would love it. There’s so much to do and so much room. We absolutely loved our stay and our host! If you’re on the fence about booking it, just do it and thank me later 😊
