All 5 bedrooms (including 2 king master bedrooms) face the sea and provide slider access to the oceanfront deck, lulling guests into pleasant slumber with ocean breezes, salty air, and sounds of the surf. Not only is this home mere steps from the beach offering the easiest of beach access, but also walking distance to the Avon Fishing Pier and Pangea restaurant. Outer Banks Bliss

We had a perfect stay in this house. Plenty of room with a view of the ocean that was magnificent. We had perfect weather all week and enjoyed the hot tub daily and loved the large porch to drink our morning coffee on and read a book or books in my case!

Canary Sings

Would recommend to anyone. Beatiful location, home and view. Some small flooding last 2 days but didn't interfere with our stay. Couple that was supposed to join us cancelled last minute but actually made stay more enjoyable. I appreciate the communication from Surf and Sound Realty. They were great. Next year Wrightsville Beach. I lived there before Hugo wiped it out. Best place i ever lived.

Family Reunion Retreat

Canary Sings is a lovely, spacious property right on the most perfect sandy beach with spectacular vistas, location, and neighborhood. The house is very well set up with big sunny rooms, plenty of seating, huge kitchen and each bedroom has outside deck/beach access. It was nicely furnished, comfy beds, quite clean and supplied with plenty of dishes, glasses, pots and pans, blender, outdoor grill, laundry, outdoor hoses to clean feet, outdoor seating, easy beach access, good parking (we had 3 cars). Towels came shrink wrapped in sets and were soft and fresh. It did not come with any kind of cleaning products what so ever so bring your own soaps, sponges, kitchen towels, and toilet paper. The bathrooms could use some updating and towel bars and tp holders were lacking or missing. Sliders did not work well from the bedrooms. It could use some clean up outside as sand was right up to all the entries, covered the parking areas and outdoor shower area. Surf or Sound was excellent to communicate with and helped us when asked immediately. We had 3 grown children and their spouses and everyone had plenty of privacy and room but we could all be together easily in the lr and dr and kitchen. The setting can’t be beat!!!

There was several issues with the house. The AC did not work, multiple calls for service were placed and no one ever came out. The fish cleaning station is missing, when we asked for a simple table we were told someone will come out to dig out the cleaning station. That never happened either. Several other minor items not worth getting into. Location is great, the house is laid out well and could be amazing if given some love and upkeep.

Good bones but dated

We rented this house for the Christmas week. Upon arrival all seemed well, but after a bit of time, we found that a lot was lacking. There was an overall lack of preparedness for our arrival. After one day, we ran out of propane. We only used the fireplace to discover this first issue. We contacted Surf or Sound, the rental management company, and they had someone come out the next day to replenish the propane. The gentleman who filled our 100 pound tank told us that this happens every week and they didn’t understand why there was such a small tank for a house that ran the fireplace, stove and oven on propane. He offered to come back in a few days to top off the tank since we would be there all week. We used the bbq for the first few nights, so it wasn’t until the 21st of December that we discovered that our oven didn’t work. We left a message and Surf or Sound had a repair man out the next day. The repair man found that the oven was inoperable, due to the fact that it was lighting itself, without being turned on. But he told us we could still use the stove so long as we lit it with a match. Surf or Sound told us that the could not get us a new oven due to the fact that we were ‘on an island’ and that it was a holiday week. I had a hard time with this for two reasons. One, it’s just a small bridge that separates this from the ‘mainland’ and two, we passed a Lowe’s right before crossing that bridge. Add to that, they should have repair parts and/or appliances for a company that supposedly represents hundreds of properties. They did offer to move us, but by that time we were three days into a 7 day stay, and we had carried up all of the necessary food, clothes, games, presents etc needed for a Christmas week stay. We chose not to move. Surf or Sound did bring us a crock pot, table top oven toaster and a hot plate. This did not work out well for the prime rib roast that we brought for Christmas dinner. Short list of issues: no outlet power in bathroom,plugged shower drain,drawers falling out,oven,stove,washer leaking,main breaker tripping,etc. Surf or Sound only offered $100 refund for these, and more, issues. That is unacceptable for a week of no oven or stove for a family of 6. We have called numerous times since, and still can’t get in touch with the office manager nor have we received ANY compensation at this time. I’d advise against renting ANY property that is managed by Surf or Sound.

Family Christmas Getaway

Our stay here was wonderful. The view is spectacular. Everything in the house was wonderful. My bed (master on main floor) was so comfy. Loved that everyone had access to the decks from their bedrooms. The fireplace stopped working but someone was sent out right away to take care of it. My only complaint was the top oven not heating or working properly. The only thing I wished this property had was an elevator....lots of stairs. The TV and audio system was great. I was able to hook up my fire stick with no problem and played my music through the system speakers via Bluetooth. I highly recommend this place.
