This secluded and tranquil cottage on a 20 acre hobby farm is the perfect getaway. With walking trails from the back door to Abbott's Mill Nature Center on the adjacent property, it is perfect for birders, nature lovers, or just for a nice walk.
We are an easy 15 minute drive from the DE Turf Sports Complex on Rt. 1 north of Milford and 35 minutes from Sports at the Beach near Georgetown.
The cottage is small but feels spacious with a vaulted living room ceiling and open floor plan. There is lots of natural light with large windows throughout and french doors onto the beautiful screened porch. There is a gas grill just out the back door. The porch makes for wonderful indoor/outdoor living; deer can often be spotted in the wooded side yard or in the meadow out back. Wild turkeys show up occasionally as well.
The cottage is shaded and air conditioned for wonderful summer days and evenings and the radiant floor heat makes it cozy and warm in the winter.
Take a walk to the creek at the rear of the property or stroll through the woods to Abbott's Mill Nature Center. Abbott's is a 313-acre Nature Preserve and features trails open to the public, a preserved gristmill, a pond, meadows, an animal collection, and educational programs. They also host Music at the Mill on select summer weekends.
The Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay beaches are nearby. Lewes (30 minutes), Rehoboth Beach (30 minutes), and Ocean City, Maryland (45 minutes) are popular beach destinations. Other nearby attractions are Cape Henlopen State Park, Killens Pond State Park, and the Cape May/Lewes Ferry. Delaware Bay beaches are popular for hunting for sea glass and are only 15 to 20 minutes away.

Downtown Milford is a 5 minute drive and features coffee shops, antique stores, barbershops, restaurants, and the Mispillion River walk.
