Walking distance to beach, licensed, very clean, safe & secluded
We followed the new regulations by Provincial Business Registry & Tourism P.E.I, all requirements of this cottage have been updated in January 2025, and the name is changed to Pearl By The Sea Cottage.
It is situated on the North Cape Coastal Dr. in West County in PEI, on Google Map, 7908 Prince Edward Island 11, Wellington, P.E.I.
A private curved driveway leads you off the street to this secluded 2 acres property.
(Before go further, a note to internet surfers, the WiFi connect is poor in almost all rural coastal areas, include this location).
The ocean is across from the property, walking distance to the beach. When the tide is low, you can walk and run on the beautiful beach, the ambience is truly breath taking. Even when the tide is high, the water is still shallow & gentle. It is quite safe to swim comparing to the North shore. It is a hidden treasure for locals.
The property is like a paradise, sunny from morning to evening. It is surrounded by varieties of trees and bushes: maple, spruce, apple, birch, wild flowers, and edible berries; wild rabbits, foxes and squirrels pop up once a while.
You can have a camp fire in the backyard or on the beach. The backyard is so private and peaceful that you can even have a nude sun bathing when the island’s "provincial bird" is not around – the mosquitoes.
Hygiene is an important standard to us. Besides a thorough cleaning of the entire cottage and the bedding before each check-in, we also move all pillows, cushions, quilts / blankets out to the porch for a sun exposure whenever it is sunny outside. It takes at least 5 hours for us to clean up the rooms before each check-in, in addition to 4-hour grass cutting.
At last, if you read so far, it shows that you like this environment. Just book it and see you here :-)
bright, and cozy accommodation which is surrounded by nature, you should be satisfied.

You are the ideal guests anyone would love to accommodate. Thank you for your positive energy, smooth communication, and keeping the house in mint condition. It took a lot of strength to keep up good relationships with other people and you guys do it naturally.
Welcome back again in the future!
If you are looking for a getaway, this house is very private and quiet. If you are looking to stay connected to media, maybe not. We were fine with the minimal connectivity and no tv. Also, there is no air conditioning. The ceiling fans in every room helped. We were out and about anyway. We both slept like babies. Don't have the outside lights on at night. You'll get eaten alive. We really enjoyed exploring the North Cape this trip. It's not far from Summerside and trips to Charlottetown and Cavendish are doable.Yes, we would return!

It was our pleasure hosting you, thanks for choosing our courage. It is our pride to provide a very clean, private and relax lodging to our guests who want to get away from their busy life in the city.
It is our intention not to provide TV, but offer free DSL. Yes, internet is a common issue in secluded rural coastal areas in PEI.

It was our pleasure having Lydia and her family as our guests. They are courteous and pleasant. They left a decent clean house behind after they left, and respected the waste management guidelines .
They deserve a 5-star which we missed the time to rate. We will be glad to host them again.
La semaine a été très jolie pour ma famille et moi, la propreté est parfaite, mais la signal téléphonique et l’internet marchent pas très bien, sa serait bien de l’arranger là signal.

Thanks for choosing our cottage as your vacation home. It is our pride to provide a super clean and comfortable place for our guests in a secluded coastal environment.
Unfortunately, there is no Fibre Optic connection in this area, the best option we have is DSL, and the direction of the wind may also affect the speed of connection, too. This is a common issue in rural coastal lines in Prince Edward Island.
Pretty property, great sunsets, short walk to the beach
Overall good. It would have been nice if we had been advised there was no TV especially when we asked if there was a DVD player!
Photos show gas stove - not connected. Large coffee maker; only a 2 cup provided. No hair d
We had a wonderful time away. Thank you for a great place to stay

Wonderful location
We enjoyed our stay at the property. The house was clean, spacious and well equipped. The beach is close to the house (2 spots to swim and spend the day at the beach). Summerside is 30 minutes away, where you can enjoy delicious Holman's ice creams. We loved the area.
Claus was attentive and quick to answer our questions.

About the host
Hosted by Charlene
My handsome husband - Claus and I have 3 well mannered, beautiful children. He is from Montreal, and I am from Chongqing, China. It is the love that brought us here in PEI in 2002. Now, our 2 older ones are in universities, and the youngest one is in high school.
I was a manager of an European executive search firm in Beijing. Thankfully, I left that stressful career in 2002, and have operated a seasonable pearl jewellery & gift business in PEI since 2007. I speak Mandarin and English. Claus is the Executive Director of CBDC Central PEI, he speaks English, French and German.
We love the nature here, especially the clean sandy beaches and ocean. We like the challenge to do polar bear dips in the ocean when the water temperature is about 2-3 Celsius before it freezes up.
We encourage our guests to swim in the ocean here in PEI if you have never done it before. You will feel cold at first, but your body will adopt in a few minutes, you will feel rejuvenated after the swim.
Why they chose this property
The house itself is not luxurious but very clean, cozy, bright and equipped except dishwasher. It is a place for a relax get-away without thinning your wallet too much.
It is a simply cute gem in the safe nature for people who want to escape the busy city life and enjoy a peaceful, beautiful and secluded environment, but still have the convenience of good road access to anywhere else on the island.
We love nature and take care of the trees, bushes, and make sure the glass is nicely cut. The property represents who we are as the owner.
What makes this property unique
Walking to distance to the beach; very private, safe, clean, good natural lights, and cozy in a natural environment, and still easily get on to the street to travel around.
