✨ Luxurious Lake Rosseau Cottage on Exclusive Royal Muskoka Island
A True Muskoka Experience – Comfort, Style, and Natural Beauty Combined
Welcome to your perfect Muskoka getaway — a newly built, luxurious, and authentic Lake Rosseau cottage located on the prestigious Royal Muskoka Island, one of the area’s most sought-after destinations. This property blends modern comfort with the timeless charm of cottage country, offering everything you need for an unforgettable family vacation or relaxing retreat with friends.
Our cottage is car and bridge accessible, meaning you can enjoy the peaceful seclusion of island living without the inconvenience of water access. Set in a quiet, protected bay, this location provides a sense of privacy and tranquility while keeping you close to the best that Muskoka has to offer — from quaint lakeside towns and scenic trails to world-class dining and boating adventures.
🌅 The Perfect Muskoka Setting
From sunrise to sunset, every moment here is touched by nature’s beauty. Our southwest exposure ensures all-day sun — perfect for morning coffee on the dock, lazy afternoon swims, and evening cocktails as the sun dips below the horizon. The cottage is situated on a flat, level lot, which is rare in Muskoka and ideal for families with children or guests who prefer easy mobility.
The gentle, sandy shoreline makes entering the water easy and inviting for swimmers of all ages. Toddlers love the sandy play area, and parents can relax knowing there’s no steep drop-off. The bay is protected, keeping boat traffic light and the waters calm — ideal for kayaking, paddleboarding, or simply floating the day away.
At night, the sound of loons replaces the bustle of the day. You’ll experience the best of Muskoka’s serenity with the added comfort of knowing your surroundings are safe, spacious, and well cared for.
🛋️ Open-Concept Living & Breathtaking Lake Views
Step inside to discover a bright and airy open-concept design that seamlessly combines the living room, dining area, and chef’s kitchen. With its cathedral ceiling, massive wood-burning fireplace, and panoramic windows overlooking the lake, the space captures the essence of lakeside luxury.
The fully equipped chef's kitchen features high-end appliances, ample counter space, and everything you need to prepare anything from simple breakfasts to gourmet dinners. Whether you’re hosting a family feast or enjoying a quiet meal, the layout encourages togetherness while still giving everyone room to relax.
The dining area flows naturally onto the expansive front deck, where a large outdoor table and BBQ await. On warm Muskoka evenings, this is the best seat in the house — dine al fresco with unobstructed long-lake views, the soft rustle of trees, and the glow of the setting sun.
The living room’s plush seating, natural wood finishes, and grand stone fireplace create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Whether you’re curling up with a book, playing games, or watching the snowfall outside during a winter getaway, this space brings family and friends together in comfort.
💤 Restful Bedrooms & Premium Comfort
When it’s time to unwind, retreat to one of the cottage’s beautifully designed bedrooms — each one crafted for privacy, tranquility, and deep rest. We’ve gone above and beyond to make sure your nights are as peaceful as your days are full of adventure.
Every bedroom is soundproofed to ensure quiet, and each bed is fitted with premium Sealy Posturepedic mattresses and luxury linens for a restful sleep.
Master Suite: Features a king-sized bed, en-suite bathroom, cathedral ceiling, built-in shelving, and sliding glass doors that open directly onto the lakeside deck. Wake up to soft morning light and lake views that stretch for miles.
Lakeside Guest Bedroom: Equipped with a queen-sized bed and satellite TV, this room also overlooks the lake, offering the perfect blend of comfort and entertainment.
Third Bedroom: Another queen-sized bed, bright and welcoming, ideal for family or friends.
In addition, a separate bunkie (located on the adjacent property) provides extra privacy and flexibility. The bunkie is heated with a thermostat, features its own lake view, and is especially popular with teens, grandparents, or anyone who prefers a quiet retreat slightly removed from the main cottage.
🌿 Outdoor Living & Waterfront Fun
Our property is designed to make the most of Muskoka’s natural beauty. The flat, landscaped grounds provide plenty of room to play, host outdoor games, or relax in a Muskoka chair with your favorite drink. With two side-by-side lots, guests enjoy more privacy and space than most other cottages in the area.
Spend your days swimming, kayaking, or lounging on the dock. As the sun sets, gather around a campfire by the water — perfect for roasting marshmallows, sharing stories, or simply stargazing under Muskoka’s famously clear night skies.
Whether you’re here in summer, autumn, spring or winter, the property offers year-round enjoyment. In the fall, vibrant foliage surrounds you. In winter, enjoy snowshoeing, skating, or curling up by the fire after a day of exploring nearby trails and towns.
🍁 Ideal for Families, Friends, and Longer Stays
This cottage is wonderful for families with children of all ages, couples seeking a romantic retreat, or groups looking for a quiet escape in nature. The thoughtful layout, multiple living spaces, and large property make it easy for everyone to feel comfortable and connected.
We welcome longer stays — and there’s even more incentive to settle in and enjoy the Muskoka lifestyle. Guests who stay 29 nights or longer can avoid the 13% HST (tax) that applies to shorter stays. VRBO may initially add this tax, but simply message us, and we’ll make sure it’s correctly removed according to Canadian tax law.
If you’ve ever dreamed of spending a month by the lake — working remotely, relaxing with family, or simply taking time to recharge — this is your chance to do it in comfort and style.

About the host
Hosted by Earl Gardiner
Welcome to Muskoka
I’ve been fortunate to call Muskoka home my entire life, spending summers at this very spot since childhood. In 2018, I built a year-round lake house so I could experience Muskoka in every season—a decision that has been nothing short of incredible. What began as a summer tradition has grown into a true four-season adventure.
Before moving here full time, I lived and worked in Toronto, building a 40-year career in the service industry. I’ve always loved meeting people, sharing stories, and creating memorable experiences. For over 40 years, I even had the honor of serving as M.C. for the Royal Muskoka Island picnic. Those moments shaped the way I host today—with warmth, energy, and genuine hospitality.
Muskoka has given me so much over the years: peaceful mornings fishing on the lake, the vibrant colors of autumn, thrilling snowmobile rides through winter trails, and countless summer adventures. Each season brings something new to discover, and that’s what makes this place so extraordinary.
Opening our vacation rental has been another wonderful chapter. It allows me to welcome new people into my life—many of whom have become friends—and to share the beauty, relaxation, and excitement of Muskoka. Helping guests experience the region the way locals do is both a joy and a privilege.
At its heart, Muskoka is about living life to the fullest—whether you’re seeking tranquility, outdoor adventure, or simply a place to recharge. I’d be delighted to host you and help make your stay here as memorable as mine have been for a lifetime.

What makes this property unique
A Truly Unique Muskoka Retreat
At the heart of the home is a stunning stone fireplace, built from stones salvaged from the historic Royal Muskoka Hotel’s grand fireplace—just 200 yards down the road—after the hotel’s tragic fire. This piece of history gives the cottage a one-of-a-kind character you won’t find anywhere else.
The property itself is equally rare. Two side-by-side, flat and level lots provide exceptional space and flexibility—perfect for family gatherings or future expansion. Facing southwest, the property enjoys all-day sunshine, while a beautiful half-moon–shaped rock point offers unobstructed, water-level views that stretch for miles.
Natural protection adds to the appeal: a gentle hill across the road shields the cottage from cold north winds, and the large sheltered bay ensures calm waters, safe from heavy boat traffic, waves, and prevailing westerly winds.
Nestled near the end of a quiet, dead-end road, with only a handful of neighbors, the atmosphere is peaceful and private—yet part of a warm and welcoming island community accessible by car.
Modern conveniences blend seamlessly with this idyllic setting. Unlimited high-speed internet, powered by the latest fiber optic technology, ensures the fastest connectivity available—ideal for working remotely or staying connected while enjoying the Muskoka lifestyle.

Modern conveniences blend seamlessly with this idyllic setting. Unlimited high-speed internet, powered by the latest fiber optic technology, ensures the fastest connectivity available—ideal for working remotely or staying connected while enjoying the Muskoka lifestyle.
