This was the perfect house for my sisters 50th bday weekend! Plenty of beds for everyone, the kids played in the game room the whole time, the bathrooms were amazing! Definitely felt like a special place for a special weekend.
We all had a fun and warm family Christmas. There was plenty of room for the kids to be kids and adults to be adults. Never had to worry about wher us everyone going to sit or where is everyone going to sleep. No one wanted to leave. My grandson said to me Sunday morning as we were packing up “ grandma I don’t want to leave I want to stay longer.” I told him I didn’t want to leave either. He enjoyed play and building a snow fort outside on the ice. We will be back next year as everyone wants to come back. Bischel’s Christmas 2024
Great spot on the lake. Very clean and updated. Huge beautiful tiled bathrooms with 2 soaking tubs and showers in each bathroom. Nice deck. Draw backs were 2 of our cousin/96 yo Mom were not real mobile so the steps up to the kitchen with no rail or ramp was difficult. Also need more chairs for 143 people to sit . Padds on dining room chais were not real soft. These are minor things.Overall loved the place. for people in living room. One co
Had 8 guys stay 3 nights. Amazing property, location, and host. Bill was super helpful, responsive, and flexible. Definitely considering rebooking for next year.
Our multigenerational family ages10 to 83 all enjoyed this home on McKenzie Lake. Bill responded quickly whenever I had a question. Kitchen, and grill were great for cooking. Nice big yard for lawn games. We loved having kayaks and water toys, and the fishermen were very happy with their catch on the lake. The house was well arrange for bedrooms, and well stocked with towels . We look forward to returning.
We had a multi-generational family visit with teens, parents and grand parents with mobility issues. The house and property are gorgeous and is very comfortable for a large group and those needing a single floor. We loved the lake and the included boats. The swing was a hit for the teenagers. The house and lake were fantastic. Great kitchen and so many plush towels for bathrooms and lake! There were only minor drawbacks: a few more chairs in family room would be great, you can only sit 8 easily at dining room table during one seating and ideally a railing would be added for the 3 steps up into the kitchen area
Bill's house & property is great. There is plenty of room for our families. Bill was responsive & helpful. The Lake was perfect for paddleboards, kayaks, tubing & skiing. Lots of fun fishing from the end of the pier for the kiddos. The yard was spacious, with a firepit & room for hammocks & games. The game room was also loved. All ages had a great time. We hope to be back soon!
A beautiful home and property, even in a snowstorm!
Our family scheduled a little getaway to unwind over spring break. We found the property to be clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated. Lots of towels were supplied! The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans, dishes, and utensils. Ample seating in the kitchen. Comfortable bedding. We enjoyed hunkering down in a snowstorm and playing games. The lakefront view is beautiful. Loved the updates, LVP floors, the large bathrooms, and the quiet location. It's clearly a well-maintained property!
Things to note: The check-in info came via personal email instead of the VRBO app. A later email said to call the owner after check-in. I missed it (I don’t check email on vacation). There are several pages of instructions, including extensive cleaning steps to take before checkout (and starting laundry). You’ll need to hand wash dishes on checkout day because there is a fee for leaving dishes in the dishwasher (so we couldn’t start it). There are also several security cameras on site that are not disclosed.
Some of the bedrooms are listed as “off the kitchen” but they are actually down a long hall to the garage. For fire escape purposes, the only exits for those are the windows (the exit is locked).
We brought extra folding chairs after seeing comments about the sectional sofa being the only seating. Also, be aware that bedroom #3 has a see-through fireplace from the living room to the bedroom (no screen).
We spent our annual holiday weekend at this beautiful home. The kids (and adults) were entertained all weekend with the wonderful game room. We were very lucky with ice fishing! Plenty of room for everyone and a beautiful kitchen to cook for the crew. We loved it and will definitely be back!! :)
The place was large enough for active kids and families. The host was easy to reach. Bill was very helpful and interested in things that need attention.
It was great to have sleeping rooms in different places. Three bathrooms were wonderful!
Kitchen was easy to work in with many large adults. Kids loved the bar by the window, great for crafts, games and playing with kinetic sand.
Perhaps a stool in bathroom for small children, and a railing on the steps.
We had five children under age 7. The games were great fun! Bring toys for little kids.
House was great for our family. Our family all met here for Thanksgiving. Easy to find, very clean and plenty of space. I will say the house could use more furniture in the main tv room. One sectional sofa for a house that sleeps 14 just isn’t enough. Other than that, the place was great! Was nice having this much space all on one level. My parents are getting older and don’t do stares well. What surprised us was the number of very nice quality towels for bathing. Most of us brought extra towels, but certainly didn’t need too. Was also nice having a double oven stove and large grill hooked up to propane so no need to worry about the tank running out. We all would gladly stay here again. Thank you!
Beautiful spot to enjoy the Fall colors. The view of the lake and the colors along the roads near the house are spectacular. The house has a lot of fun games inside for bigger kids but know the location means the noise of air hockey and archade will carry into the sitting areas in the kitchen and living room. The smart TV is not hooked to an antenna or cable system so you’ll need to use your own apps if you have them to access live TV like sports.
Beautiful place. Lovely lake front and good amenities. Kitchen well stocked with needed equipment, drawers could use labels do things could be put back where they go. A hand rail on the three stairs between kitchen and game room would be nice since stairs aren’t even. Also a few more chairs in living room would be nice and night lights in the bathrooms. Otherwise all was so very nice we are thinking to return next fall.
We rented this property as part of my son’s wedding weekend, with the family wedding brunch held the next day at the property. It was perfect. The property is beautiful, the kitchen is huge, and the bedrooms are beyond words. I recommend this property to everyone! I wish I could live there!
Our children and grandchildren and our adult family home celebrated our Christmas this past weekend. There was lots of room for all of us, the game room was a huge hit with everyone. We were sad to leave. We are looking forward to next time when we can go back.
There were 15 of us, 10 adults, 2 teens, 2 kiddos, 1 infant. It was perfect for our family to gather for Christmas. It was COLD and our home was warm and exactly what we needed for gathering!
Communicating with Bill was extraordinary! All our kids are begging us to do this again!
